Damian Whitewood is an Australian dancer and former dancesport competitor. Background Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia Damian was first introduced to ballroom dancing at the age of 10 through his older brother. His mother was also a competitive ballroom dancer in her childhood days in London. From the age of 14, Damian was traveling across Australia competing in both ballroom and Latin competitions. He became National state champion, Australian champion, and Australasian champion in both ballroom and Latin and represented Australia in many world competitions. Career In 2001 he joined the cast of Burn the Floor, which has sold millions of tickets in over 30 countries and 160 cities worldwide. ''La Academia'' (''The Academy'') is a Mexican reality musical talent television series shown on Azteca, that premiered in June 2002 and is currently in its thirteenth installment. Although the show itself is not affiliated with the Endemol franchise, which includes the "Star Academy" shows, it does share the competition format of many of the variants of the global franchise. The thirteenth season of '' Dancing with the Stars Australia'' premiered live on 1 October 2013. Daniel MacPherson continued his role as main host of the show on Channel Seven. However, Melanie Brown had announced she wouldn't be returning for her second season as co-host, in order to pursue a judging role on '' America's Got Talent''. ''Sunrise'' weather presenter, Edwina Bartholomew permanently replaced Brown for this season. Todd McKenney and Helen Richey confirmed their returns as judges whilst, Joshua Horner resigned from the panel after two seasons. It was later revealed that two new judges will both replace Horner. Ricki-Lee Dawn Coulter (born 10 November 1985), also known mononymously as Ricki-Lee, is a New Zealand-born Australian singer, songwriter, television, and radio presenter. Yegudkin is best known as a professional dancer on the Dancing with the Stars (Australian TV series), Australian Dancing with the Stars.
