Dallas Baptist Patriots Baseball
The Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team represents Dallas Baptist University, which is located in Dallas, Texas. The Patriots are an NCAA Division I college baseball program that competes in Conference USA. They began competing in Division I in 2004 and joined the Missouri Valley Conference in 2014 after only one season with the Western Athletic Conference. They are the only Dallas Baptist program in Division I and Conference USA. All other Dallas Baptist programs compete in Division II's Lone Star Conference. DBU is also the only D-II member that competes in D-I baseball. The Dallas Baptist Patriots play all home games on campus at Joan and Andy Horner Ballpark. Under the direction of Head Coach Dan Heefner, the Patriots have played in nine NCAA Tournaments and hosted their first regional in 2015. Dan Heefner
Dan Heefner is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball, Dallas Baptist since the start of the 2008 NCAA Division I baseball season, 2008 season. Under Heefner, the Patriots have reached ten NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, NCAA tournaments, including a Super Regional in 2011. An Olivet Nazarene University, Olivet Nazarene graduate, Heefner played two years of baseball for the Tigers after transferring from Northern Iowa Panthers baseball, Northern Iowa. Coaching career Northern Iowa Heefner began his coaching career at Northern Iowa Panthers baseball, Northern Iowa (UNI), where he worked under head coach Rick Heller from 2002 to 2003. Creighton Bluejays Baseball
The Creighton Bluejays baseball team represents the Creighton University in NCAA Division I college baseball. Creighton competes as a member of the Big East Conference and plays its home games at Charles Schwab Field Omaha. Creighton's baseball team played its first Big East season in 2014. They are coached by Ed Servais. The team plays its home games at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, also the home of the College World Series, an event which the Bluejays baseball programs serves as the official host school for, providing each of the schools in the tournament practice facilities, training assistance, and assisting with game scoring. The 2011 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, June 3, 2011 as part of the 2011 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 team double elimination tournament concluded with the 2011 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 29, 2011. The 64 NCAA Division I college baseball teams were selected out of an eligible 300 teams. The 2008 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was held from May 30 through June 25, 2008 and was part of the 2008 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college baseball teams were selected out of an eligible 286 teams on May 26, 2008.
