Charlotte Vale Allen
Charlotte Vale-Allen (January 19, 1941 – January 12, 2023) was a writer of contemporary fiction. She lived in the United Kingdom from 1961 to 1964 working as a singer and actress. She emigrated to the United States in 1966 following a brief return to Canada. After marrying Walter Bateman Allen Jr. in 1970, she moved to Connecticut where she later lived. Biography Charlotte Vale-Allen was born on January 19, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and lived in England from 1961 to 1964 where she worked as a television actress and singer. She returned to Toronto briefly, performing as a singer and in cabaret revues until she emigrated to the United States in 1966. Vale married Walter Bateman Allen Jr. in 1970. They made their home in Connecticut and she began to write. ''Metal for Muthas'' is the name given to a series of heavy metal compilations made during the new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM). The original compilation was ''Metal for Muthas'', released in February 1980. The compilation was a sampling of various better-known artists of the NWOBHM, primarily known for having some of the earliest recorded material by heavy metal legends Iron Maiden. The original ''Metal for Muthas'' album reached No. 12 on the British LP charts and became the basis of a tour by the artists who contributed songs to the compilation. Iron Maiden, who headlined the tour, became largely intertwined with the history of Sanctuary Records (whose namesake was the similarly named Iron Maiden track on the compilation). ''Solitude/Solitaire'' is the second solo album by former Chicago bassist and vocalist Peter Cetera, and his first album after leaving the band in 1985. It was released in June 1986. The album includes the hits "Glory of Love" and " The Next Time I Fall" (with Amy Grant); both reached the No. 1 position on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. ''Solitude/Solitaire'' was produced by Michael Omartian, who later co-produced Cetera's 2001 album, ''Another Perfect World''. Composition Cetera co-wrote eight of the nine songs on the album, "The Next Time I Fall" being the exception.
