Dženada Mešaljić, born on 28 April 1997, is a Bosnian singer known professionally as Dada Mešaljić. She gained recognition through her participation as a contestant on Zvezde Granda. and for her performances of songs by Indira Radić. Life and career Mešaljić was born in Tuzla and raised in the nearby town of Srebrenik. She participated in music competitions including ''Zvijezda možeš biti ti'' on Hayat TV, ''Valentino zvijezde'' on OTV, and Zvezde Granda in 2016. While on tour in the United States, Mešaljić performed Indira Radić's song "''Zmaj''" at a McDonald's in Florida, which gained viral attention. Marija Šerifović ( sr-cyr, Марија Шерифовић, ; born 14 November 1984) is a Serbian singer. Born in Kragujevac as the daughter of Verica Šerifović, she rose to prominence in 2003 with her debut album ''Naj, Najbolja''. Turbo-folk (sometimes referred as pop-folk or popular folk) is subgenre of contemporary pop music with its origins in Serbia, that initially developed during the 1980s and 1990s, with similar music styles in Bulgaria (chalga), Romania (manele) and Albania (tallava). It is a fusion genre of popular music, blending Serbian folk music with other genres: such as pop, rock, electronic and some hip-hop. Background and characteristics Turbo-folk music emerged as a subculture in the countryside during the 1970s before migrating to the city in the '80s and eventually reaching further expansion in the '90s during the rule of Slobodan Milošević, Yugoslav Wars, inflation and political isolation. Hayat TV is a television station from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The word, " Hayat", means "life" in Turkish. It is a privately owned TV station, which started airing on 24 February 1992. Its coverage is over 1.5 million people in Bosnia, numerous cable subscribers in the neighbouring countries, and satellite viewers. In the beginning of 2009 Hayat TV opened its new headquarters in Vogošća, suburb of Sarajevo. Hayat now consists of a "Hayat" channel for the Bosnia region and also a Hayat Plus channel for its diaspora. Srebrenik ( sr-cyrl, Сребреник) is a city located in Tuzla Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, near Tuzla. As of 2013, it has a population of 39,678 inhabitants. The town of Srebrenik had a population of 6,694.
