D 85 Road (United Arab Emirates)
D 85 ( ar, د ٨٥), also known as Baniyas Road, is a road in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The road begins near the north end of the Deira Corniche, and runs beside Dubai Creek south-eastwards. Passing important landmarks along the creek, D 85 ends near the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Important landmarks along the D 85 route include the Hyatt Regency Dubai on the Deira Corniche, the Deira Twin Towers, Al Nasr Square, Etisalat Tower 1, Dubai Municipality, and the Deira City Centre. D 85 intersects with other roads to provide access to Bur Dubai — it intersects with D 92 (Al Mina Road/Al Khaleej Road) near Port Rashid to form the Al Shindagha Tunnel and with Umm Hurair Road in Deira to form the Al Maktoum Bridge. Dubai Creek ( ar, خور دبي, Khūr Dubay) has been described as a natural saltwater creek, tidal inlet, and watercourse or waterway in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It extends about inwards and forms a natural port that has traditionally been used for trade and transport. The creek ranges from in width while the average depth is about . Previously, it extended to Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary but as part of the new Business Bay Canal and Dubai Canal, it extends a further to the Persian Gulf. Some sources say that the creek historically extended as far inland as Al Ain, and that the Ancient Greeks called it River Zara. Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club first opened in Dubai, UAE, in 1993, comprising an 18-hole par 71 championship golf course with a distinctively sail-shaped clubhouse. Mina Rashid ( ar, ميناء راشد; ), also referred to as Port Rashid, is a man-made cruise terminal in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was Dubai's first commercial port; in 2018 cargo operations moved to Jebel Ali Port. It currently serves as a seafront coastal destination, tourist cruise destination, and residential area. Deira (In Arabic: ديرة) is a historically significant district within the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates bordered by the Persian Gulf, Sharjah and Al Awir.
