DWHB (103.9 FM), broadcasting as 103.9 iFM, is a radio station owned and operated by the Radio Mindanao Network. The station's studio is located at Room 203, Laperal Bldg., Upper Session Rd., Baguio, and its transmitter is located at Diplomat Rd., Dominican Hill, Baguio. History Established on February 4, 1980, DWHB was one of the pioneer FM station in Baguio, along with DZWR and DZYB; hence the station began operations as Smooth Jazz HB103, one of the few RMN FM stations at that time, airing a smooth jazz format together with DYXL in Cebu (which they carrying easy listening format). It was the first FM station in the city to carry such format. On August 16, 1992, HB103 was only lasted for almost a decade, when all RMN provincial stations started carrying the Smile Radio branding and switched to a mass-based format. Middle of the road (also known by its acronym MOR) is a commercial radio format and popular music genre. Easy listening (including mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to 1970s. It is related to middle-of-the-road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs, non-rock vocals and instrumental covers of selected popular rock songs. It mostly concentrates on music that pre-dates the rock and roll era, characteristically on music from the 1940s and 1950s. DZYB (102.3 FM broadcasting, FM) is a radio station owned by Nation Broadcasting Corporation and operated by TV5 Network, TV5 Network, Inc., serving as a relay station of DWFM, Radyo5 in Manila. The station's transmitter is located at Mount Santo Tomas, Mt. Sto. Tomas, Tuba, Benguet. History The station began operations in 1978 as MRS 102.3, airing an adult contemporary format.
