Britpop Revival
Britpop was a mid-1990s British-based music culture movement that emphasised Britishness. Musically, Britpop produced bright, catchy alternative rock, with significant influences from British guitar pop of the 1960s and 1970s. Britpop was considered a musical reaction to the darker lyrical themes and soundscapes of the American-led grunge music of the time, and Britain's own shoegaze music scene. The movement brought British alternative rock into the mainstream and formed the larger British popular cultural movement, Cool Britannia, which evoked the Swinging Sixties and the British guitar pop of that decade. Britpop was a phenomenon that highlighted bands emerging from the independent music scene of the early 1990s. Although often seen as a cultural moment rather than a distinct musical genre, its associated bands typically drew inspiration from the British pop music of the 1960s, the glam rock and punk rock of the 1970s, and the indie pop of the 1980s. The most successful ban ...

Like A Version
''Like a Version'' is a long-running weekly segment on Australian youth radio station Triple J. It involves musicians playing two songs live in the Triple J studio, one of their own songs and then a cover version. The series was created by presenter Mel Bampton in 2004 as part of the ''Mel in the Morning'' program. The title is wordplay on the song " Like a Virgin" by Madonna. Early performances were more intimate, with most covers in the first years featuring only acoustic instruments, but as the segment has evolved, recordings have moved into larger studios to accommodate full bands. The segment has grown in popularity over the years, leading to the release of compilation CDs featuring the covers. All ''Like a Version'' performances are filmed by Triple J and are made available on their YouTube channel. Some particularly well-received covers have made it into the Triple J Hottest 100– In the 2021 countdown, the Wiggles made history as their cover of Tame Impala's "Elephan ...

Believe (Cher Song)
"Believe" is a song by the American singer Cher from her 22nd studio album, '' Believe'' (1998). It was released as the lead single on October 19, 1998, by Warner Bros. Records. After circulating for months, a demo written by Brian Higgins, Matthew Gray, Stuart McLennen and Timothy Powell, was submitted to Warner's chairman, Rob Dickins, while he was scouting for songs to include on Cher's new album. Aside from the chorus, Dickins was not impressed by the track so he enlisted two more writers, Steve Torch and Paul Barry to complete it. Cher contributed some lyrics but did not receive any songwriting credit. Recording took place at Dreamhouse Studio in West London, while production was handled by Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling. "Believe" is an upbeat dance-pop and electropop song and departed from Cher's previous music. It featured a pioneering use of the audio processing software Auto-Tune to distort her vocals, which was widely imitated and became known as the "Cher e ...
