DJ Bonez
George Kordas, better known by the stage name DJ Bonez, is a hip hop DJ and producer, originally from Sydney and currently based in Melbourne, Australia. DJ Bonez has been described as being at "the forefront of Australian DJing culture as a performer and also catering to DJs worldwide with break beats and scratch records". Career Bonez began creating four-track mix tapes and CDs for the underground hip-hop scene in the late 1980s, while studying at high school. By the age of 17, hands, he had expanded his skills and started performing as a club and scratch DJ in venues across Australia. In 1995, Bonez made the transition to producer. Having honed his skills as a DJ, he performed turntable trick routines and began producing battle records. Shogun
, officially , was the title of the military dictators of Japan during most of the period spanning from 1185 to 1868. Nominally appointed by the Emperor, shoguns were usually the de facto rulers of the country, though during part of the Kamakura period, shoguns were themselves figureheads, with real power in hands of the Shikken of the Hōjō clan. The office of shogun was in practice hereditary, though over the course of the history of Japan several different clans held the position. The title was originally held by military commanders during Heian period in the eighth and ninth centuries. When Minamoto no Yoritomo gained political ascendency over Japan in 1185, the title was revived to regularize his position, making him the first shogun in the usually understood sense. Hyjak N Torcha is an Australian hip hop group from Sydney, New South Wales. Biography The group formed in 2000, consisting of Hyjak (Jack McCarthy), Torcha (John Chmielewski), and DJ Bonez (George Kordas). Hyjak first appeared on the scene in 1998, at the age of fifteen he snuck into a pub in the Sydney suburb of Kings Cross to compete in a rap battle, which he won. Torcha, hailing from Sydney's west, was an active volunteer youth worker, doing programs in youth prisons and performing at anti-war rallies. Formally part of Sydney's Eth-nik Tribe, another Australian hip hop group. Hyjak N Torcha signed to Obese Records and their first album ''Drastik Measures'' was released in 2004. The album was recorded at John Keane (record producer)'s studio in Athens, Georgia. The liner notes to the album suggest that the band's name originated from a comment from Dave Schools who reportedly stated, "Play like a brute." The liner notes also suggest that the album title derives from the safe stacking height for pallets. The band Brute played 5 shows under that moniker, and Vic would collaborate with the band several more times before his death. Living Legends is an American hip hop supergroup consisting of indie hip hop artists from California.
