* The surname Aquino comes from one of the historic noble houses in Italy. Although Jure Francorum lived, as Benedetto Croce attests, the family was, however, of Lombard blood, as it came from Radoaldo, who had been Aquino's possessor in the time of the dukes of Benevento. Iva Toguri D'Aquino
Iva Ikuko Toguri D'Aquino ( ja, 戸栗郁子 アイバ; July 4, 1916 – September 26, 2006) was a Japanese-American disc jockey and radio personality who participated in English-language radio broadcasts transmitted by Radio Tokyo to Allied troops in the South Pacific during World War II on ''The Zero Hour'' radio show. Toguri called herself " Orphan Ann", but she quickly became inaccurately identified with the name "Tokyo Rose", coined by Allied soldiers and which predated her broadcasts. After the surrender of Japan, Toguri was detained for a year by the United States military before being released for lack of evidence. US Department of Justice officials agreed that her broadcasts were " innocuous", but when Toguri tried to return to the US a popular uproar ensued, prompting the Federal Bureau of Investigation to renew its investigation of Toguri's wartime activities. John D'Aquino (born April 14, 1958) is an American film and television actor, best known for his role as Lieutenant Benjamin Krieg in '' seaQuest DSV'', Joel in the film '' Pumpkinhead'', U.S. President Richard Martinez in the Disney Channel Original Series ''Cory in the House'', and for his appearance as Ulysses in ''Xena''. Matthew D'Aquino (born 26 June 1985 in Canberra) is an Australian judoka, who competed in the extra-lightweight category. He is a 4th Degree Judo Black belt, BJJ black belt under Felipe Grez, two-time Australian judo champion, a multiple-time Oceanian champion for his respective division, and a former member of Marist Judo Club under his personal coach Tom Hill, who competed for the men's lightweight division at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and eventually won the gold medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England.
