D. S. Jayasekera
David S Jayasekera was a Head Master and Sinhala teacher at S. Thomas' College, Mt Lavinia. Jayasekera was born in Dompe and educated at St. Joseph's College, Colombo. He completed S. S. C. and the London Matriculation Examination and entered the University of Colombo to gain a Diploma in Education. Jayasekara started his teaching career at St. Joseph,s College moving to S Thomas' College in 1947. Mr. Jayasekera's career at S. Thomas' College, Mt Lavinia lasted 48 years from 1947 to 1995. He taught Sinhala, Buddhism and History. As a Sinhala teacher he was a considered to have been at the forefront of the post independence renaissance in teaching of the Sinhala language and literary activities with the assistance of Arisen Ahubudu, Sandadas Coperehewa and GL Jinadasa. Arisen Ahubudu
Kalasuri Arisen Ahubudu ( Sinhala: අරිසෙන් අහුබුදු; 18 March 1920 – 26 May 2011) was a Sri Lankan writer, orator, scholar, playwright, teacher (Guru), Sinhala lyricist, author and poet. He is a member of the Hela Havula. He has received three government awards for literary works, the title of Kalasuri from the Government of Sri Lanka, and the Sarasaviya Awards film award for best composer. As a composer, he is especially noted for writing music performed by W.D. Amaradeva, such as Gilem Obe Guna. Sandadas Coperehewa
Sandadas Coperahewa (born 1923) is a Sinhala writer, poet, scholar, art critic, teacher and journalist in Sri Lanka. Coperhewa was born in Pamburana and educated at Pamburana Sariyuth College. He attended St. Thomas' College, Matara from the age of 9. He was recruited by Warden R.S.de Saram and taught Sinhala, Art and Buddhism for thirty two years (1951 -1983) at S. Thomas' College, Mt Lavinia alongside Arisen Ahubudu, GL Jinadasa and D.S. Jayasekera. He contributed poems to Subasa - journal started by Munidasa Cumaratunga in 1941 and became an active member of the Hela Havula organization. Kala Keerthi Sembuge Gamini Shelton Fonseka () (21 March 1936 - 30 September 2004 as ගාමිණී ෆොන්සේකා), was a Sri Lankan film actor, film director and politician.
