D. P. B. Pride
David Porter Baker Pride (April 22, 1854 – March 21, 1894) was an American attorney and politician who served as the secretary of the Idaho Territory from July 2, 1884, to February 12, 1885, and first attorney general of the Idaho Territory from 1885 to 1887. Background Pride was born in Cumberland, Maine in 1854 and began his career as a lawyer and school board official in Windham, Maine. Pride later relocated to Idaho, where he became an active figure in the Idaho statehood movement. The Attorney General of Idaho is an elected office that assists local law enforcement agencies in the state of Idaho. They provide legal representation for state agencies, state corporations and any persons holding ownership of property, as well as enforcing consumer protection laws. The Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho, Boise is the Seat of government, home of the government of the U.S. state of Idaho. Although Lewiston, Idaho, Lewiston briefly served as Idaho's capital from the formation of Idaho Territory in 1863, the territorial legislature moved it to Boise on December 24, 1864. Construction of the first portion of the capitol building began in the summer of 1905, fifteen years after statehood, and the architects were John E. Tourtellotte and Charles Hummel.
