D. B. Sweeney
Daniel Bernard Sweeney (born November 14, 1961) is an American actor. Early life Sweeney was born in Shoreham, New York, on November 14, 1961. He attended both Tulane and New York University. Career In 1990, Sweeney starred as Treplev in Jeff Cohen's contemporary adaptation of Anton Chekhov's classic ''The Seagull'' at a tiny Off Off-Broadway theater (the RAPP Arts Center) in New York's Alphabet City neighborhood. His co-star was a then unknown Laura Linney, making her New York stage debut as Nina. The ''New York Times'' called Sweeney's performance "bold and exciting". Sweeney guest-starred in the television series ''The Edge of Night'' and '' Spenser: For Hire''. In films, he has played Jackie Willow, a Vietnam-era soldier, in Francis Ford Coppola's '' Gardens of Stone'' (1987), navigator 1st Lt. Shoreham, New York
Shoreham is an incorporated village in the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 531 at the 2010 census. It is officially known as the ''Incorporated Village of Shoreham''. History At Shoreham, Nikola Tesla built the Wardenclyffe Tower, which was dismantled in 1917. Nowadays there is the static inverter plant of the HVDC Cross Sound Cable. A non profit organization is in the process of turning Nikola Tesla's laboratory and the property where the Wardenclyffe Tower was once located into a museum honoring the life and work of Nikola Tesla. The Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant was approved for Shoreham, but it was later disapproved as the result of public protest. The builder, Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO), was partially reimbursed for money spent on construction. ''Major Crimes'' is an American police procedural television series starring Mary McDonnell. It was a continuation spin-off of ''The Closer'', set in the same police division, now headed by McDonnell's character, Sharon Raydor. It premiered on TNT on August 13, 2012, following the finale of ''The Closer''. In January 2017, during ''Major Crimes'' fifth season, TNT renewed the series for a 13-episode sixth season. On October 3, the network announced the sixth season would be its last. Series star McDonnell commented on Instagram, "as many of you have stated, this was not a surprise. The writing was clearly on the wall. Trying to make sense of TNT's choices is an activity that James Duff and Mike Robin and all of us have been engaged in for a long time."
