D-Side were an Irish boy band established in 2001 by twins Rory and Eoghan MacSweeney, and signed to Edel Records. Edel brought in Kim Glover to manage the band after her success with New Kids on the Block, Ant & Dec (as PJ & Duncan), B*Witched and Let Loose. Glover secured their entry into Japan getting them a recording contract with Avex and worked with them until the end of 2004. They had some success in Japan, the United Kingdom, and Europe, winning 'Best New Band Award' at the ''Smash Hits Tour'' in 2002. The group was initially made up of 6 members, Derek Ryan (who performed under the alias Ryan O'Rian), Damien "Dane" Guiden, Elroy Cahill, Damien Bowe and Derek Moran. The band released their first single "Stronger Together" in Ireland only, which reached No. 5 on the Irish charts. Invisible (D-Side Song)
"Invisible" is a song by Irish boy band D-Side, released as the third single (second in the United Kingdom) from their first studio album, ''Stronger Together'' (2003). The song was written and produced by Desmond Child, Andreas Carlsson, and Chris Braide. Released on 14 July 2003, the song became a top-10 hit in Ireland and the United Kingdom, peaking at number five in the former country and number seven in the latter. The same year, ''American Idol'' second two runner-up Clay Aiken covered the song and reached number 37 on the US '' Billboard'' Hot 100 with his rendition. Derek Ryan (singer)
Derek Ryan (born 24 August 1983 in Garryhill, County Carlow, Republic of Ireland) is an Irish singer. He is a former member of the Irish boy band D-Side (2001–2006). He has also established his own production house and label, Ryan Records. Beginnings From the age of twelve, Derek Ryan had musical aspirations performing regularly at social events with his brother Adrian as the Ryan Brothers. Having grown up in Garyhill near Carlow town, Derek was bred into loving Irish traditional music by his family. His father is a traditional singer of Irish and of country music. Derek took part in and became a winner of two all-Ireland titles in both and drumming. Kim Glover is an English music manager best known for overseeing the careers of PJ & Duncan (Ant & Dec), B*Witched, New Kids on The Block, Snap, Tiffany, Let Loose and D-Side, as well as helping to manage and develop the careers of Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, David Essex and others. She is also Chief executive of Kim Glover Management based in London, which she founded in 1993. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data.
