Cổ Chiên Bridge
Co Chien Bridge ) is a road bridge spanning the Cổ Chiên River in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Description Co Chien Bridge is a cantilever bridge using prestressed concrete. It is 1,599 meters long and 16 meters wide, with four lanes of traffic with posted speeds of 80 kph. It crosses the Co Chien River connecting the Mo Cay Nam district of Ben Tre province with the Cang Long district of Tra Vinh Province along Vietnam's National Highway 60. It 3.6 kilometers downstream from the Co Chien Ferry Terminal that it was designed to supplement. The architecture of the Co Chien Bridge consists prestressed reinforced concrete as well as reinforced concrete, using a balanced cantilever main span structure. Cable-stayed Bridge
A cable-stayed bridge has one or more ''towers'' (or ''pylons''), from which cables support the bridge deck. A distinctive feature are the cables or stays, which run directly from the tower to the deck, normally forming a fan-like pattern or a series of parallel lines. This is in contrast to the modern suspension bridge, where the cables supporting the deck are suspended vertically from the main cable, anchored at both ends of the bridge and running between the towers. The cable-stayed bridge is optimal for spans longer than cantilever bridges and shorter than suspension bridges. This is the range within which cantilever bridges would rapidly grow heavier, and suspension bridge cabling would be more costly. T-beam
A T-beam (or tee beam), used in construction, is a load-bearing structure of reinforced concrete, wood or metal, with a -shaped cross section. The top of the -shaped cross section serves as a flange or compression member in resisting compressive stresses. The web (vertical section) of the beam below the compression flange serves to resist shear stress. When used for highway bridges the beam incorporates reinforcing bars in the bottom of the beam to resist the tensile stresses which occur during bending. The T-beam has a big disadvantage compared to an I-beam (with shape) because it has no bottom flange with which to deal with tensile forces. Prestressed concrete is a form of concrete used in construction. It is substantially "prestressed" ( compressed) during production, in a manner that strengthens it against tensile forces which will exist when in service.
