César Monasterio
César Omar Monasterio (born 28 November 1963) is an Argentine professional golfer. Monasterio was born in Tucumán. He turned professional in 1990. Since 2003 Monasterio has played extensively in Europe on the European Tour and its development tour, the Challenge Tour. He won the 2005 Abierto Telefonica Moviles de Guatemala on the Challenge Tour, and in 2006 captured his first European Tour title at the Aa St Omer Open, which was an official money event on both tours. San Miguel De Tucumán
San Miguel de Tucumán (; usually called simply Tucumán) is the capital and largest city of Tucumán Province, located in northern Argentina from Buenos Aires. Abierto Del Litoral
The Coast Open, or Abierto del Litoral, is a golf tournament played in Argentina. Founded in 1932 as the Torneo de Profesionales (Professional Tournament), a name only used for the first two editions, it has always been played at the Rosario Golf Club in Rosario, Santa Fe. The tournament has been a fixture on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica Developmental Series. It was previously an annual stop on the higher level Tour de las Américas from 2000 until 2010 having been an event on that tours predecessor, the South American Tour, between 1993 and 1999. It was also included on the European Challenge Tour schedule in 2007 (2008 Challenge Tour, 2008 season), being one of five tournaments held in Latin America, and four in Argentina, that season. Fidel de Luca has the most victories, with eight. In 1932, 1952 and 1983 the championship ended in a tie, with no playoff being held to determine an outright winner. Andrés Fabián Romero (born 8 May 1981) is an Argentine professional golfer who plays on both the PGA Tour and European Tour. Career Romero was born in Tucumán. He won his European Tour card by finishing 14th on the Challenge Tour rankings in 2005. His rookie season included a tied for second finish at the Scottish Open and a tied for eighth finish in The Open Championship. Romero finished placed 35th on the Order of Merit. In the 2007 Open Championship, Romero placed third, behind Sergio García and Pádraig Harrington, making ten birdies on the last day of play. He briefly led the field by two strokes, but made a double bogey on the 17th hole and a bogey on the 18th to miss a play-off by one shot. Sebastián Fernández (born 8 September 1973) is an Argentine professional golfer. Fernández was born in Buenos Aires. He worked as a caddie in Buenos Aires, before turning professional in 1991. He won the Argentine Tour Order of Merit in 2000. He won three Argentine PGA Championships, in 1991, 2001 and 2005, the first as an 18-year-old, and also came second in 2003. Fernández competed on the Challenge Tour from 2003 to 2007, winning one tournament, the Costa Rica Open in 2003, and finishing second in the Skandia PGA Open (Sweden) in 2003, the Costa Rica Open in 2005 and the Challenge of Ireland in 2006. Costa Rica Open
The Costa Rica Open is a men's professional golf tournament that was played annually in Costa Rica until 2007. It was an event on the Tour de las Americas from 2002 until its replacement by the Costa Rica Golf Classic in 2008, and was also co-sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour from 2003. The tournament was held at the Cariari Country Club near San José every year except in 2004 when it was played over the Valle del Sol Golf Course near Santa Ana. The 2006 event was renamed in order to pay tribute to the tournaments founder and promoter, Kai Fieberg, who had been killed in a car accident earlier in the year. In 1979 and 1980, Cariari hosted the PGA sponsored Friendship Cup, which is sometimes also referred to as the Costa Rica Open. The 2003 Challenge Tour was the 15th season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season.
