Céline Sciamma
Céline Sciamma (; born 12 November 1978) is a French screenwriter and film director. She is especially known for her films Girlhood (film), ''Girlhood'' (2014), ''My Life as a Courgette'' (2016), and ''Portrait of a Lady on Fire'' (2019), winning many nominations and awards for her films. A common theme in Sciamma's films is the gender fluidity, fluidity of gender and sexual identity among girls and women, and her films explore the female gaze. Early life and education Sciamma was born on 12 November 1978 was raised in Cergy-Pontoise, a suburb outside of Paris. Her father, Dominique Sciamma, is a software designer, and her brother, Laurent Sciamma, is a stand-up performer and graphic designer. Before attending La Fémis, the première French film school, where she studied from 2001-2005, Sciamma earned her master's degree in French Literature at Paris Nanterre University. Pontoise () is a commune in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the centre of Paris, in the " new town" of Cergy-Pontoise. Administration Pontoise is the official ''préfecture'' (capital) of the Val-d'Oise ''département'', although in reality the ''préfecture'' building and administration, as well as the department council (''conseil général''), are located in the neighboring commune of Cergy, which is regarded as the ''de facto'' capital of Val-d'Oise. 2007 Cannes Film Festival
The 60th Cannes Film Festival ran from 16 to 27 May 2007. The President of the Jury was British director Stephen Frears. Twenty two films from twelve countries were selected to compete for the Palme d'Or. The awards were announced on 26 May. ''4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days'', directed by Cristian Mungiu won the Palme d'Or. The festival opened with ''My Blueberry Nights'', directed by Wong Kar-wai and closed with '' Days of Darkness (L'Âge des ténèbres)'' by Denys Arcand. Diane Kruger was the mistress of ceremonies. The official poster of the 60th Cannes festival featured Pedro Almodóvar, Juliette Binoche, Jane Campion, Souleymane Cissé, Penélope Cruz, Gérard Depardieu, Samuel L. ''Being 17'' (french: Quand on a 17 ans) is a 2016 French drama film directed by André Téchiné and starring Kacey Mottet Klein, Corentin Fila and Sandrine Kiberlain. The script was written by Téchiné in collaboration with Céline Sciamma.
