Cédric Wermuth
Cédric Wermuth (born 19 February 1986) is a Swiss politician and the co-president of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SP), for which he represents the canton of Aargau in the National Council of Switzerland. He is a former president of the Young Socialists of Switzerland (JUSO) and also a former vice president of the SP. Early life and education Wermuth was born 19 February 1986 in the canton of Bern in the Jegenstorf municipality. He is the oldest son of Otto and Laurence Wermuth, who met while both working as social workers and curative educators. His brother Yann is younger by three years. During the boys' childhood, the family lived in Stetten, Lenzburg, Bünzen, Boswil, Baden, and Freiamt. His upbringing included living on farms. Mattea Julia Meyer (born 9 November 1987 in Basel; resident in Villmergen and Opfikon) is a Swiss politician, a member of the Swiss National Council and co-president of the Swiss Social Democratic Party. Early life and education Mattea Meyer was born in Basel, but her family moved to Winterthur in Canton Zurich. 2019 Swiss Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Switzerland on 20 October 2019 to elect all members of both houses of the Federal Assembly. This was followed by the 2019 election to the Swiss Federal Council, the federal executive, by the United Federal Assembly. In the 20 October elections, the two green parties, the Green Party of Switzerland and the Green Liberal Party of Switzerland, made major electoral gains, taking 13.2% and 7.8% of the vote respectively. As in the previous election, the Swiss People's Party received the most votes, but its share of votes went down to 25.6% from 29.4%. Initial media coverage interprets the 2019 election results as a "green wave" marking a leftward shift of the Swiss electorate on the political spectrum. The Council of States (german: Ständerat, french: Conseil des États, it, Consiglio degli Stati, rm, Cussegl dals Stadis) is the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland, with the National Council being the lower house. It comprises 46 members. Twenty of the country's cantons are represented by two Councillors each. Solidar Suisse is a Swiss non-governmental organization (NGO) that claims a 70-year commitment to decent working conditions, democratic participation and improvement of living conditions in the poorest countries. Squatting
Squatting is the action of occupying an abandoned or unoccupied area of land or a building, usually residential, that the squatter does not own, rent or otherwise have lawful permission to use. Trespass to land is a common law tort or crime that is committed when an individual or the object of an individual intentionally (or, in Australia, negligently) enters the land of another without a lawful excuse. Trespass to land is ''actionable per se''. Thus, the party whose land is entered upon may sue even if no actual harm is done. In some jurisdictions, this rule may also apply to entry upon public land having restricted access. A court may order payment of damages or an injunction to remedy the tort.
