Czechoslovak Women's Basketball Championship
The Czechoslovak Women's Basketball Championship was the premier women's basketball league in former Czechoslovakia. Founded in 1933, it was disestablished sixty years later following the country's dissolution and replaced by the Czech League and the Slovak Extraliga replacing it. Sparta Praha was the most successful team in the championship with 23 titles between 1948 and 1987, followed by Slovan Orbis and Slavia VŠ Praha with nine. While the championship was mostly dominated by Czech teams its four last editions were won by Slovakia's ŠKP Banská Bystrica and Ružomberok. Sokol Nilfisk Hradec Králové
The Sokol movement (, ''falcon'') is an all-age gymnastics organization first founded in Prague in the Czech region of Austria-Hungary in 1862 by Miroslav Tyrš and Jindřich Fügner. It was based upon the principle of " a strong mind in a sound body". The Sokol, through lectures, discussions, and group outings provided what Tyrš viewed as physical, moral, and intellectual training for the nation. The movement also spread across all the regions populated by Slavic cultures, most of them part of either Austria-Hungary or the Russian Empire: present-day Slovakia, the Slovene Lands, Croatia, Serbia ( SK Soko), Bulgaria, Poland (Sokół), Ukraine, Belarus. In many of these nations, the organization also served as an early precursor to the Scouting movements. Though officially an institution "above politics", the Sokol played an important part in the development of Czech nationalism and patriotism, whi ...

UNCAS Prague
Uncas () was a ''sachem'' of the Mohegans who made the Mohegans the leading regional Indian tribe in lower Connecticut, through his alliance with the New England colonists against other Indian tribes. Early life and family Uncas was born near the Thames River in present-day Connecticut, the son of the Mohegan sachem ''Owaneco''. ''Uncas'' is a variant of the Mohegan term ''Wonkus'', meaning "Fox". He was a descendant of the principal sachems of the Mohegans, Pequots, and Narragansetts. Owaneco presided over the village known as ''Montonesuck''. Uncas was bilingual, learning Mohegan and some English, and possibly some Dutch. In 1626, Owaneco arranged for Uncas to marry the daughter of the principal Pequot sachem Tatobem to secure an alliance with them. Owaneco died shortly after this marriage, and Uncas had to submit to Tatobem's authority. Tatobem was captured and killed by the Dutch in 1633; Sassacus became his successor, but Uncas felt that he deserved to be sachem. Owan ...
