The Czech Republic are one of the major teams in international speedway. They have never won the competition but have appeared in eight finals. Milan Špinka
Milan Špinka (born 5 May 1951) is a former international speedway rider from Czechoslovakia. Speedway career Špinka won the gold medal at the Individual Ice Speedway World Championship in the 1974 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship. He also won a silver and bronze medal at the Championships. He rode in the top tier of British Speedway from 1979 to 1983, riding for Ipswich Witches and Swindon Robins. USA Speedway Team
The United States national speedway team are an international speedway team from the United States who compete in the annual major international speedway competitions including the Speedway World Cup and Speedway of Nations and the former events the Speedway World Team Cup and the Speedway World Pairs Championship. They are managed by Lance King, who finished third in the 1984 World Final and the current captain is triple and four times world champion Greg Hancock. The team is governed by the American Motorcyclist Association. Zdeněk Kudrna
Zdeněk Kudrna (born 2 September 1946 in Čisovice, Czechoslovakia - died 1 June 1982) was an international speedway rider who reached he Speedway World Championship final in 1979. White City Stadium
White City Stadium was a stadium located in White City, London, England. Built for the 1908 Summer Olympics, it hosted the finish of the first modern marathon and other sports like swimming, speedway, boxing, show jumping, athletics, stock car racing, concerts and a match at the 1966 World Cup. From 1927, it was a venue for greyhound racing, hosting the English Greyhound Derby until its closure in 1984. The stadium was demolished in 1985 and the site is now occupied by White City Place. Jiří Štancl (born 18 November 1949 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Czechoslovakia. Career Štancl reached the final of the Speedway World Championship on nine occasions between 1971 and 1984, finishing a career best 9th in 1982 Individual Speedway World Championship, 1982 in Los Angeles. He won the Czechoslovakian National Championship twelve times, has appeared in the Speedway World Team Cup, World Team Cup finals on seven occasions and in the Speedway World Pairs Championship finals seven times.
