The Czech Republic competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022. Michal Březina and Alena Mills were the country's flagbearer during the opening ceremony. Meanwhile speed skater Martina Sáblíková was the flagbearer during the closing ceremony. After winning seven medals in 2018, the Czech Republic's medal haul fell to a single gold and single bronze medal in Beijing, marking its weakest performance since 1994. The Czech Olympic Committee ( cs, Český olympijský výbor) is the National Olympic Committee (NOC) representing the Czech Republic. History The Czech Olympic Committee is one of the oldest NOCs in the world, having been founded in 1899 as Bohemian Committee for the Olympic Games ( cs, Český výbor pro hry olympijské). The women's 5000 m competition in speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 10 February, at the National Speed Skating Oval ("Ice Ribbon") in Beijing. Irene Schouten of the Netherlands, who already became the champion on 3000 m a few days earlier, won the event. Ski jumping at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the Snow Ruyi hill in Zhangjiakou, China. The events were held between 5 and 14 February 2022. In July 2018, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially added the mixed team event to the Olympic program, increasing the total number of events to 5. A total of 105 quota spots (65 men and 40 women) were distributed to the sport, the same as the 2018 Winter Olympics. A total of nine short track speed skating events will be held.
