Cyril Cooke
Air Marshal Sir Cyril Bertram Cooke, (28 June 1895 – 27 September 1972) was a senior Royal Air Force officer who served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief RAF Maintenance Command from 1947 to 1949. Military career Cooke served with the Royal Artillery during the First World War, transferring to the Royal Flying Corps in 1915. He was appointed Officer Commanding No. 188 Squadron RAF, No. 188 Squadron in April 1918 on the formation of the Royal Air Force. He went on to be Officer Commanding No. 20 Squadron RAF, No. 20 Squadron in 1924, a wing commander at the No. 1 School of Technical Training in 1935 and Officer Commanding, No. 6 School of Technical Training in 1939. The Most Honourable Order of the Bath is a British order of chivalry founded by George I on 18 May 1725. The name derives from the elaborate medieval ceremony for appointing a knight, which involved bathing (as a symbol of purification) as one of its elements. Air Marshal Sir Thomas Arthur Warne-Browne, (21 July 1898 – 13 October 1962), was a senior Royal Air Force officer who served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Maintenance Command from 1949 to 1952. Air Marshal Sir David Grahame Donald, (27 July 1891 – 23 December 1976), often known as Sir Grahame Donald, was a Royal Naval Air Service pilot during the First World War, a senior Royal Air Force (RAF) officer between the wars and a senior RAF commander during the Second World War. In February 1939, Donald was appointed Director of Organisation at the Air Ministry. He was also a rugby union international having represented Scotland twice in 1914.
