Cyndie Romer
Cyndie Romer is an American politician serving in the Delaware House of Representatives for the 25th district as a Democrat. To win the seat, she defeated Republican opponent Lynn May in the 2022 election. Biography Romer has been married to Steve Romer since 2002. Steve works at JP Morgan Chase, and they have two daughters and one dog, Bodhi, together. Outside of politics, she works at Diamond Technologies. She grew up in Hockessin with four siblings. John Kowalko
John A. Kowalko Jr. (born September 17, 1945) is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives from 2006 to 2022. He represents District 25, which covers parts of Newark, Delaware. He was described as one of the first progressive members of the state legislature, which had grown to around 12 progressives by 2018. Early life Kowalko was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Adele and John Kowalko, Sr., a 24-year career Marine. He graduated from St. Joseph's Prep in 1963 and apprenticed at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. He was a machinist for over 30 years, including General Foreman (LL648 IAM) at the Delaware City Refinery. Kowalko also worked as a community advocate on a range of issues, including heating assistance for low-income families. Hockessin, Delaware
Hockessin () is a census-designated place (CDP) in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The population was 13,527 at the 2010 census. History Hockessin came into existence as a little village in 1688 when several families settled in the area. The village was named after the Lenape word ''hokes'', meaning good bark or good bark hill. There is a second and more likely origin for the name. While the word Hockessin does look like a Native American word, the name Hockessin did not show up on any early maps until many years after the Hockessin Meeting House was built and what is now the Village of Hockessin was never settled by the Native Americans, while they did have a hunting camp nearby.
