CyberConnect2
is a Japanese video game development studio mostly known for its work on the ''.hack'' series, along with a series of fighting games based on the ''Naruto'' franchise. They are also known for creating the ''Little Tail Bronx'' series (e.g. ''Tail Concerto'' and '' Solatorobo: Red the Hunter''). In 2016, they expanded their workforce into the international market by opening a studio in Montreal, Canada. History CyberConnect2 was first formed on February 16, 1996 as CyberConnect in Fukuoka, Japan. On September 16, 2001, it was renamed CyberConnect2. On October 3, 2007, CyberConnect2 changed their logo and expanded their production beyond games, beginning with the formation of Sensible Art Innovation to create the ''.hack//G.U. Trilogy'', and LieN to compose the music. CyberConnect2 opened a studio in Tokyo, Japan in 2010, and later opened their first international studio in Montreal, Canada in 2016. Hiroshi Matsuyama
, born in 1970 in Fukuoka, is a Japanese game designer. He is the CEO of the company CyberConnect2. He developed multiple games including the ''.hack'' franchise as well as adaptations of the anime series including ''Naruto'' and ''Dragon Ball''. Besides developing games, Matsuyama has participated in directing two ''.hack'' films as well as voicing a character from the series. Early life As a child, Matsuyama was interested in anime and manga. He dreamed of becoming a mangaka for the ''Weekly Shonen Jump'' magazine. When growing up, he graduated from a university in Fukuoka. Following his graduation, Matsuyama joined a manga club. He went to Kyushu Sangyo University but had not decided what would be his job. Tail Concerto
is an action-adventure platformer developed by CyberConnect and published by Bandai for the PlayStation. It is the first installment in the ''Little Tail Bronx'' series, which takes place in a steampunk fantasy world of floating islands populated by anthropomorphic dogs and cats. The game revolves around a canine police officer named Waffle Ryebread and his encounters with the Black Cats Gang, a group of sky pirates who aim to steal magic crystals. Though it received a generally positive response from critics, the title was met with low sales in Japan, falling short of the publisher's expectations. Silent Bomber
is a 1999 arcade style action video game for the PlayStation, and the second game developed by CyberConnect. ''Silent Bomber'' is based on the classic top down shoot 'em up genre but with a twist: Instead of shooting the enemy, the player blows them up using bombs. In 2006, it was released for the PlayStation Network in Japan. Gameplay The player takes control of the protagonist, Jutah, whose mission is to attack and destroy the facilities and defenses of the colossal space dreadnought Dante. The player can either plant bombs simply where they stand, or by launching them using the lock-on reticle. Bombs that are launched at enemies also attach to their target. Bombs can then be detonated at any time at the player's discretion. This introduces the chaining element of gameplay, where the number of enemies simultaneously destroyed awards more points. Asura's Wrath
is an action video game developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Capcom. It was first announced at the Tokyo Game Show in 2010, and was released worldwide in February 2012. The game was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game follows the title character, the demigod Asura as he seeks revenge on the pantheon of other demigods who betrayed him. The story is presented in the style and format of an episodic series of cinematic scenes, including opening and closing credits, with the gameplay being integrated into the cinematic where players switch between third-person combat and interactive sequences with player input in the form of quick-time event button prompts.
