Cut Knife-Turtleford is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. Located in northwest Saskatchewan, this constituency has an economy based primarily on farming – while oil and gas development is rising. The Battlefords Provincial Park is located here. Communities in the riding include the towns of Cut Knife (population 610), Maidstone (1,037), Lashburn (914), and Turtleford (461); and the villages of Neilburg, Meota, Glaslyn, Marsden, and Edam. The riding was last contested in the 2020 general election. It sent Saskatchewan Party candidate Ryan Domotor to represent the district in the Legislature. Marsden ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Manitou Lake No. 442 and Census Division No. 13. It gained notoriety shortly after the impact of the Buzzard Coulee meteorite near the village on 20 November 2008. Marsden is located along Highway 40, just east of Wells Lake, and about 4 miles north-west of Manitou Lake. The village was named after Marsden, West Yorkshire in England. Michael Chisholm
Michael Chisholm (born August 26, 1948) is a Canadian provincial politician. He was a Saskatchewan Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 2003 to 2011, and is also a member of the federal Conservative Party of Canada. In 2003 he was elected for the newly created constituency of Cut Knife-Turtleford, and was re-elected in 2007. He is the vice-chair of the government's public-accounts committee. Personal life Chisholm was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm in Maidstone. Prior to running for public office in 2003, Chisholm was an accountant. He is married with three sons and three grandchildren. Battleford-Cut Knife was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. This constituency was created by the merging of parts of the Cut Knife-Lloydminster and The Battlefords electoral districts before the 1995 Saskatchewan general election. Saskatchewan Party
The Saskatchewan Party is a centre-right political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Since 2007, it has been the province's governing party; both the party and the province are currently led by Premier Scott Moe. The party was established in 1997 by a coalition of former provincial Progressive Conservative and Liberal party members and supporters who sought to remove the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) from power. The Saskatchewan Party served as the province's Official Opposition until the provincial election on November 7, 2007. 2020 Saskatchewan General Election
The 2020 Saskatchewan general election was held on October 26, 2020 to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. This date is set by Saskatchewan's fixed election date law. The writ was dropped on September 29 just in time to hold the election on October 26. The previous election re-elected the Saskatchewan Party to its third consecutive majority government under the leadership of Brad Wall. On August 10, 2017, Wall announced his resignation as leader, pending the election of his successor. On January 27, 2018, Environment Minister Scott Moe was elected leader of the Saskatchewan Party.
