Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jerome Jacobs Jr. (born February 18, 2002) is an American football linebacker for the Penn State Nittany Lions football, Penn State Nittany Lions. Early life Jacobs attended McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. He played wide receiver and defensive back in high school. He was selected to play in the 2020 Under Armour All-America Game. He committed to Penn State University to play college football. College career As a true freshman at Penn State in 2020, Jacobs played in eight games and had nine tackles as a linebacker. He became a starter his second year in 2021. He finished the year with 61 tackles, three sacks and an interception over 12 games. In 2022, he started 12 games, recording 52 tackles, four sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown. Jacobs returned to Penn State in 2023, rather than enter the 2022 NFL Draft. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). The 2022 NFL Draft was the 87th edition of the National Football League's annual draft and was held from April 28–30, 2022, at the Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The first round was held on Thursday, April 28, and was followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on Saturday, April 30. It was the first draft to be held in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The first five selections were defensive players, the second-most taken at the start of a draft after the six in 1991. The Under Armour High School All-America Game is a high school football all-star game typically held in early January in the U.S. state of Florida created to spotlight the nation’s top high school seniors. The game was first played on January 5, 2008, and has been played annually at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida or at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The game is sponsored by Under Armour and enjoys a national audience thanks to broadcast partner ESPN (the first edition was broadcast on ABC opposite the U.S. Army All-American Bowl). Glen Burnie is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is a suburb of Baltimore. The population of Glen Burnie was 67,639 at the 2010 census. History In 1812, Elias Glenn, a district attorney, established a county seat near what is currently known as Brooklyn Park. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage.
