Currents (band)
Currents is an American metalcore band from Fairfield, Connecticut, formed in 2011. After numerous line-up changes, they consist of singer Brian Wille, guitarists Ryan Castaldi and Chris Wiseman, bassist and backing vocalist Christian Pulgarin, and drummer Matt Young. History In January 2013, the debut EP ''Victimized'' was released independently with five tracks on it. Two years later, on January 23, 2015, they released the EP ''Life // Lost'', in which Ricky Armellino from This or the Apocalypse appears as a guest musician, was also released independently. At the beginning of March 2017, the band was signed by the US independent label SharpTone Records. On June 16 of the same year, the band's debut album, ''The Place I Feel Safest'', was released via SharpTone Records. On May 4, 2018 the band released the instrumental version of the album. Fairfield, Connecticut
Fairfield is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It borders the city of Bridgeport and towns of Trumbull, Easton, Weston, and Westport along the Gold Coast of Connecticut. Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Djent () is a subgenre of progressive metal characterised by its use of off-beat and complex rhythm patterns. Its distinctive sound is that of high-gain, distorted, palm-muted, down-tuned strings. The name "djent" is an onomatopoeia of this sound. Novelists (often known in print as Novelists FR) are a French progressive metalcore band from Paris who formed in 2013. They are currently signed to Out of Line Music. History Novelists was founded in 2013 by brothers Amael and Florestan Durand. Shortly after, Matteo Gelsomino, Nicolas Delestrade, and Charles-Henri Teule joined. In April 2014, they released a demo with 6 songs. In July 2015, they signed with the record label Arising Empire, and in November they released their debut studio album, ''Souvenirs''. In June 2017, the band released the single "The Light, the Fire". After this, they toured with While She Sleeps and Northlane. Emmure () is an American metalcore band formed in 2003. Originally based in New Fairfield, Connecticut, before moving to Queens, New York, the group has released eight albums, with their first public release being a 2006 EP entitled ''The Complete Guide to Needlework''. Victory Records has worked with the band throughout most of their career, starting with ''Goodbye to the Gallows'' (2007). Their second, third and fourth albums ''The Respect Issue'' (2008), ''Felony'' (2009) and ''Speaker of the Dead'' (2011) were all distributed through Victory as well.
