Curling At The 2010 Winter Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's curling tournament took place at the Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre. The draws took place between 16 and 25 February 2010 and the final took place on 26 February 2010. All start times are in Pacific Standard Time (UTC-8). The preliminary round was a round-robin tournament between all 10 teams; the top four qualified for the medal round. The Hillcrest Centre is a community centre with ice hockey and curling rinks, and an aquatics facility, located at Hillcrest Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Construction started in March 2007; it hosted the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships prior to the Olympics. Liu Yin (curler)
Liu Yin (; born August 19, 1981 in Harbin, Heilongjiang; usually referred to in the media as Yin Liu) is a Chinese curler from Harbin. For many years she played third on the Chinese national team skipped by Wang Bingyu. Curling career 2002–2009 Liu has played internationally for China since 2002, when she was an alternate on the team at the when she had only been curling for two years. In 2004, she was a full member of the team. She played third for the team at the , and then second at the 2005 World Women's Curling Championship, her first experience at World's. Melanie Robillard
Melanie Robillard (born October 3, 1982 in Sussex, New Brunswick) is a curler originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She represented Germany at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, playing third for Andrea Schöpp. Currently, she lives in Switzerland. Career As a junior, Robillard curled for Jenn Hanna's team in 2000 as her lead. The rink would lose in the Ontario provincial junior finals that year, to Julie Reddick. In 2002, Robillard skipped her team to the provincial junior finals, but lost once again to Reddick. Monika Wagner
Monika Wagner (born 28 February 1965 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany) is a German curler. She currently plays third for Andrea Schöpp, who was born eight hours before her in the same hospital. Wagner has played with Schöpp for most of her international career. She was her lead at the 1980 European Curling Championships where they won the bronze medal. Since then Wagner has been both Schöpp's second and third. Andrea Schöpp (born 27 February 1965) is a German curler from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. She lectures part-time in statistics at the University of Munich. Career Schöpp is a two-time World champion ( and ), seven-time European champion (, , , , , , ) and 1992 Winter Olympics champion (demonstration). Schöpp has skipped every team she has played for in international events - except when she plays at the European Mixed Curling Championships, where she usually plays third for her brother, Rainer. Ane Håkansson Hansen (born 3 October 1975) is an internationally elite curler from Denmark. Camilla Louise Skaarberg Jensen (born 25 October 1982 in Copenhagen) is a Danish curler. She currently plays on a team skipped by sister Angelina Jensen. Angelina Camilla Jensen (born 23 May 1973) is a Danish curler from Kastrup. Jensen has won two bronze medals in six attempts at the World Junior Curling Championships. She won her first bronze in 1993 playing third for Dorthe Holm and won bronze again in 1994 skipping. She had also played on the Danish team at the 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 Junior Championships. Jensen played in her first World Curling Championship in 1994 throwing third stones for Helena Blach Lavrsen. Denmark finished 9th that year. Denise Dupont
Denise Kanstrup Dupont (born 24 May 1984) is a Danish curler. She throws third rocks for the Danish national team, skipped by Angelina Jensen. After several years of limited success in the Junior ranks, Dupont joined Dorthe Holm's team and was a member of the silver medal-winning European Curling Championships team in 2002. Tårnby () is a town in Denmark, the seat of Tårnby Municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark. It is located approximately south of central Copenhagen on the island of Amager.
