Cure4Kids
Cure4Kids is a web-based education project of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Its goal is to help health professionals in countries with limited resources improve the survival rates of children with life-threatening illnesses, including pediatric cancer, sickle cell disease, and HIV/AIDS. The Cure4Kids website provides access to online seminars and conferences with audio narration, presenting current research and best practices, clinical and scientific advances, as well as case studies and treatment analyses. The website also provides access to consultation and mentoring through web-conferencing technology, training for management and analysis of clinical patient information, electronic full-text books and journals, and online courses. The Cure4Kids site contains over 2,000 seminars, courses and conferences. All material can be used and downloaded for reference and educational purposes. American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities
The American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC) is the fundraising and advocacy organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Its sole mission is to raise the funds and awareness necessary for St. Jude's continued operation. ALSAC is the largest healthcare related charity in the United States. The National Executive Office is located in Memphis, Tennessee. ALSAC also has over 30 local fundraising offices located in cities throughout the United States that hold over 30,000 fundraising events annually. Purpose and activities As of 2021, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital costs nearly $1.7 billion per year to run, and donations provide an estimated 87% of those funds. Only 6% of the money to operate the hospital comes from insurance recoveries and 5% comes from grants. Community Outreach
Outreach is the activity of providing services to any population that might not otherwise have access to those services. A key component of outreach is that the group providing it is not stationary, but mobile; in other words, it involves meeting someone in need of an outreach service at the location where they are. Compared with traditional service providers, outreach services are provided closer to where people may reside, efforts are very often voluntary, and have fewer, if any, enforceable obligations.
