''Culture for Pigeon'' is the third official release from Tracy + the Plastics and the band's second full-length album. It was released in 2004 on Troubleman Unlimited. ''Culture for Pigeon'' includes a DVD with two of Wynne Greenwood Wynne Greenwood (born 1977) is a queer feminist performance artist who works in various media such as installation art, photography, filmmaking and music. Tracy + The Plastics
Tracy + the Plastics is an American electropop and video project group from Olympia, Washington, United States. The members include Nikki Romanos on keyboard, Cola on drums, and Tracy as the lead vocals. Although the name implied the group was made up of a lead singer and back up musicians, all three characters were performed by Wynne Greenwood, a lesbian feminist artist using video projection, who calls herself a representative of the "lesbo for disco" generation. About Tracy + the Plastics' music consisted of a Boss DR-5 drum machine, an Akai 612 disc sampler, and combines lo-fi filmmaking, performance art, Devo-styled songs, and feminist and queer politics in an entertaining package. Troubleman Unlimited Records
Troubleman Unlimited Records was a record label specializing in indie rock and similar genres. Founded in 1993, the label was based in Bayonne, New Jersey and owned by Mike Simonetti. History The label started as an offshoot of a fanzine called "Wanna Communicate?", releasing 7" singles. The label grew significantly in the 2000s, releasing full-length albums by many groups who are regularly reviewed in media outlets like ''Spin'' and Pitchfork. The label focused on noise rock, including releases from Black Dice, Wolf Eyes and Hair Police. Troubleman Unlimited was named "Best Label" by ''New York Magazine'' in 2005. Wynne Greenwood
Wynne Greenwood (born 1977) is a queer feminist performance artist who works in various media such as installation art, photography, filmmaking and music. One of her well known projects include the electropop and video project group, Tracy + the Plastics. Wynne works out of Seattle, Washington, and was an instructor in the Department of Art and Art History at Seattle University. Education She attended Douglass College, and Rutgers University for her undergraduate studies and later received an M.F.A, from the Milton Avery Graduate School for the Arts, Bard College in 2004. Music career Greenwood is perhaps best known for her work under the name Tracy + the Plastics. While working as the Plastics, she played the role of three characters: Tracy and her back-up singers Nikki Romanos and Cola. Joel Hamilton
Joel Hamilton (born 1980) is an American Brooklyn-based record producer, audio engineer and musician. Hamilton performs as a musician for the band Book of Knots. He is also a producer and engineer at Studio G in Brooklyn, New York. In the summer of 2014, Hamilton appeared as the host of a web series produced by Spotify and Bose named "Art of Sound", which focuses on the connection between the physical, technical and emotional sides of music and sound. He hosted many musicians and sound engineers to conduct experiments on a wide variety of sound-related topics.
