The Cuba women's national handball team represents Cuba in international handball competitions, and is controlled by the Federación Cubana de Balonmano. The team participated in the 1999 World Women's Handball Championship and the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship. Handball At The 2015 Pan American Games – Women's Tournament
The women's handball tournament at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada was held at the Exhibition Centre (in Hall B) from July 16 to 24. For these Games, the women competed in an 8-team tournament. The teams were grouped into two pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round. The top two teams in each group advanced to a single elimination bracket. Brazil were the defending champions from the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, defeating Argentina, 33–15 in the final. The winner of the tournament were to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, while the 2nd and the 3rd place (due to the continental rankings at the World Championship) qualified for the Olympic Qualification Tournament. 2015 World Women's Handball Championship
The 2015 IHF World Women's Handball Championship, the 22nd event hosted by the International Handball Federation, was held in Denmark. The decision to select Denmark as the host was announced on 27 January 2011. In the final Norway won 31–23 against the Netherlands to gain their third title. Romania won bronze after they defeated Poland 31–22. Venues Venues for the tournament were announced on 7 June 2014. Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning hosted the final, both semi-finals, two quarter-finals, matches in the round of 16 and Denmark's group. SYDBANK Arena in Kolding was the venue of two quarter-finals, eighth-finals and neighbour Germany's group, while Arena Nord in Frederikshavn and the new venue in Næstved hosted one eighth-final and one group each.
