Cserénfa is a village in Somogy county, Hungary. Etymology Its name derives from the South Slavic person name ''Cserin'' and the ''-fa'' part ist a short form of ''falva'' ( en, village). History According to ''László Szita'' the settlement was completely Hungarian in the 18th century. Sport Cserénfa Speedway was a motorcycle speedway venue off the Fő utca. Somogy County
Somogy ( hu, Somogy megye, ; hr, Šomođska županija; sl, Šomodska županija, german: Komitat Schomodei) is an administrative county (comitatus or ''megye'') in present Hungary, and also in the former Kingdom of Hungary. Somogy County lies in south-western Hungary, on the border with Croatia (Koprivnica-Križevci County and Virovitica-Podravina County). Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes.
