Crystal Lee
Crystal Lee is a co-founder of the Silicon Valley startup LifeSite. Lee was the first runner-up in the Miss America 2014 pageant, Miss California 2013, Miss Chinatown USA 2010, and Miss California's Outstanding Teen 2008. She is currently the in-arena host for the Golden State Warriors. Background Lee was born in San Francisco, California to a Chinese-American father and Taiwanese mother. Lee graduated from Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. She later received her B.A. in human biology and M.A. in communication from Stanford University in 2013. Miss America 2014 Lee was first runner-up in the Miss America 2014 pageant where her platform was "Women in STEM." She was also the recipient of the STEM scholarship and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Miss America is an annual competition that is open to women from the United States between the ages of 17 and 25. Originating in 1921 as a "bathing beauty revue", the contest is now judged on competitors' talent performances and interviews. As of 2018, there is no longer a swimsuit portion to the contest, or consideration of physical appearance. Miss America travels about 20,000 miles a month, changing her location every 24 to 48 hours, touring the nation and promoting her particular platform of interest. Theresa Marie Vail (born October 1, 1990) is Miss Kansas 2013. She subsequently placed in the top ten of the Miss America 2014 pageant, where she became the first contestant to openly display tattoos (during the swimsuit competition) and won the "America's Choice" award. Vail later hosted programs for the Outdoor Channel. Background Vail graduated in 2009 from Leavenworth High School, Leavenworth, Kansas.
