Crush (I.O.I Song)
"Crush" is the pre-debut single by South Korean girl group I.O.I. It was released online as a digital single on April 5, 2016 through CJ E&M. Background CJ E&M formed I.O.I through the reality competition series '' Produce 101'' on Mnet. The song "Crush" was announced to be the debut song for the winners of the series. However, shortly before the end of the series, YMC Entertainment and Mnet decided to postpone the debut of I.O.I until May to give the group more time to prepare. They decided that "Crush" would be released as a pre-debut single by I.O.I after the conclusion of ''Produce 101''. In the final episode, which was broadcast live on April 1, 2016, the remaining 22 contestants performed the song as their final assessment, after which viewers voted for their favorite contestant. ''Chrysalis'' is the debut extended play by the South Korean girl group I.O.I, a special group created through the 2016 Mnet survival show ''Produce 101'', composed of eleven trainees from different entertainment companies that will promote for a year under YMC Entertainment. The album was released digitally on May 4, 2016 and physically on May 9 with the single "Dream Girls" in two versions, a standard edition and a special edition. ''Produce 101'' is a reality television talent competition franchise created by South Korean entertainment conglomerate CJ E&M, based around the formation of a K-pop girl group or boy group. The format is noted for having no panel of judges, employing audience participation to make decisions, as well as for starting with a very large number of competitors, 101, narrowing that number down to the final 11. Gaon Music Chart
The Circle Chart (), previously known as the Gaon Music Chart or the Gaon Chart (), tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in South Korea. It is produced by the Korea Music Content Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Founded in 2010. History Gaon Chart was launched in February 2010 by the Korea Music Content Association, under the sponsorship of the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the aim to create a domestic national chart similar to the ''Billboard'' charts of the United States and the Oricon charts of Japan. The Circle Digital Chart, previously known as the Gaon Digital Chart, is the music industry standard record chart ranking the 200 most popular singles in South Korea. Mnet (acronym of Music Network) is a South Korean pay television music channel owned by CJ E&M, a division of CJ ENM, part of CJ Group. K-pop
K-pop (), short for Korean popular music, is a form of popular music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture.
