Cruel Intentions (soundtrack)
''Cruel Intentions'' is the compilation soundtrack to the 1999 film of the same name. The film's soundtrack peaked at #60 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Information The songs " Push It" by Garbage, "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next" by Manic Street Preachers, "How Soon Is Now?" by Love Spit Love, " 6 Underground" by Sneaker Pimps, and "Cut the Cord" by Pushmonkey were used in promotional spots for the film. None of the promotional songs appear on the soundtrack. Also according to the commentary, The Smashing Pumpkins song " To Sheila" was considered, but the rights couldn't be obtained. Although the song "Lovefool" by The Cardigans was featured in the film, it too was not featured in the soundtrack. Music composer John Ottman had originally created an entire musical score for the film but it was rejected and Ed Shearmur was hired to compose new music. The Cardigans
The Cardigans is a Swedish rock band formed in Jönköping, Sweden, in 1992 by guitarist Peter Svensson, bassist Magnus Sveningsson, drummer Bengt Lagerberg, keyboardist Lars-Olof Johansson and lead singer Nina Persson. Post-hiatus shows since 2012 have been with Oskar Humlebo on guitar instead of Svensson. With their debut album ''Emmerdale'' (1994) they gained a solid base in their home country and enjoyed some success abroad, especially in Japan. Their second album ''Life'' (1995) secured them an international reputation. Day One (band)
Day One is an English band from Bristol, formed in 1998, and consisting of Phelim Byrne and Matthew Hardwidge. The band was originally signed to Virgin/Melancolik, the record label started by Massive Attack. Their début album, ''Ordinary Man'', was released in 2000. Blur (band)
Blur are an English rock band formed in London in 1988. The band consists of singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. Their debut album, ''Leisure'' (1991), incorporated the sounds of Madchester and shoegazing. Following a stylistic change influenced by English guitar pop groups such as the Kinks, the Beatles and XTC, Blur released ''Modern Life Is Rubbish'' (1993), ''Parklife'' (1994) and '' The Great Escape'' (1995). "Coffee & TV" is a song by the British rock band Blur (band), Blur. It was written by the band's guitarist, Graham Coxon, who also sang lead vocals rather than frontman Damon Albarn. The song appears on Blur's sixth studio album, ''13 (Blur album), 13'' (1999), and was the second single released from the album on 28 June 1999. The lyrics describe Coxon's struggle with alcoholism and the song's video, featuring a sentient Carton, milk carton searching for Coxon, won several awards. Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ, and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. In the 1980s, Cook was the bassist for the Kingston upon Hull, Hull-based indie rock band the Housemartins, who achieved a UK number-one single with their a cappella cover of "Caravan of Love". After the Housemartins split up, Cook formed the electronic band Beats International in Brighton, who produced the number-one single "Dub Be Good to Me". He then played in Freak Power, Pizzaman (band), Pizzaman, and the Mighty Dub Katz with moderate success. Placebo (band)
Placebo are a British rock band, formed in London in 1994 by vocalist–guitarist Brian Molko and bassist–guitarist Stefan Olsdal. Drummer Robert Schultzberg joined in late 1994, but left in 1996 shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album due to conflicts with Molko, and was replaced the same year by Steve Hewitt. Following the release of a demo, a split single, and their eponymous debut album, Placebo gained exposure in 1997 after the single " Nancy Boy" became popular in the UK, a song notorious at the time for its gender-bending content. The band stood out amongst the Britpop scene they were associated with at the time for their androgynous appearance and musical content, and lyrics which openly discussed sexuality, mental health, and drug use. "Every You Every Me" is a song by British alternative rock band Placebo, released as the third single from their second album, '' Without You I'm Nothing'', on 25 January 1999. It was released as a 2-CD set and on cassette, but promotional copies on 12-inch vinyl exist. The single managed to chart at number 46 in Australia, number 99 in Germany, and number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. ''Fantasy Island'' is an American fantasy drama television series that aired on ABC from September 26, 1998 to January 23, 1999, during the 1998–99 television season. ''Apt Pupil'' is a 1998 American psychological thriller film based on the 1982 novella of the same name by Stephen King. The film was directed by Bryan Singer and stars Ian McKellen, Brad Renfro, Bruce Davison, Elias Koteas and David Schwimmer. Set in the 1980s in southern California, the film tells the story of high school student Todd Bowden (Renfro), who discovers a fugitive Nazi war criminal, Kurt Dussander (McKellen), living in his neighborhood under a pseudonym.
