''Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007'' is the Rhino Entertainment and Warner Brothers release to the 2007 Eric Clapton '' Crossroads Guitar Festival''. The concert was recorded on July 28, 2007 at the Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. The recordings were released on both Compact Disc and DVD on November 28, 2007 in the United States. The CD and DVD releases sold more than two million copies worldwide and reached various international charts. Background All of the 28,000 concert tickets had been sold in less than 22 minutes, topping the international concert sales chart in May 2007. All the ticket sales proceeds from the event as well as the CD and DVD sales proceeds goes directly to the Crossroads Foundation. American blues musician Robert Johnson (1911–1938) recorded 29 songs during his brief career. A total of 59 performances, including alternate takes, were recorded over a period of five days at two makeshift recording studios in Texas. Producers selected 25, which Vocalion Records issued on 12 two-sided 78 rpm record singles between 1937 and 1939. These went out-of-print, but were the only source of Johnson's work until his recordings were eventually issued on albums beginning in 1959. In addition to those on the original singles, another 17 recordings have been released (five additional songs and 12 alternate takes).
