Old Irish
Old Irish, also called Old Gaelic ( sga, Goídelc, Ogham script: ᚌᚑᚔᚇᚓᚂᚉ; ga, Sean-Ghaeilge; gd, Seann-Ghàidhlig; gv, Shenn Yernish or ), is the oldest form of the Goidelic/Gaelic language for which there are extensive written texts. It was used from 600 to 900. The main contemporary texts are dated 700–850; by 900 the language had already transitioned into early Middle Irish. Some Old Irish texts date from the 10th century, although these are presumably copies of texts written at an earlier time. Old Irish is thus forebear to Modern Irish, Manx, and Scottish Gaelic. Henry Cronin
Henry Francis Cronin CBE, MC, BSc (Eng) (1894–1977) was a British civil engineer and army officer.. He served in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and the Royal Engineers during the First World War and was awarded the Military Cross for constructing defensive works and taking part in assaults under heavy fire. Cronin was appointed chief engineer of London's Metropolitan Water Board in 1939 and held that position until 1959. During the London Blitz he worked hard to maintain water supplies for fire fighting. Early life and First World War Henry Francis Cronin was born in Ketton, Rutland in 1894. Lance Cronin (born 11 September 1985) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He made seven international appearances for the England C national team. Kevin Patrick Cronin (born October 6, 1951) is an American singer and songwriter, who is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and pianist for the rock band REO Speedwagon. Justin R. Cronin (October 9, 1980 – November 11, 2020) was an American politician who served as a Republican member of the South Dakota House of Representatives from January 2009 to 2017 and the South Dakota State Senate from 2017 until his resignation in August 2019 due to health reasons. Justin Cronin (born 1962) is an American author. He has written five novels: ''Mary and O'Neil'' and ''The Summer Guest'', as well as a vampire trilogy consisting of ''The Passage,'' '' The Twelve'' and '' City of Mirrors''. He has won the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award, the Stephen Crane Prize, and a Whiting Award. Born and raised in New England, Cronin is a graduate of Harvard University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Joseph Edward Cronin (October 12, 1906 – September 7, 1984) was an American professional baseball player, manager and executive. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a shortstop, most notably as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Jeremiah Cronin (14 September 1925 – 19 October 1990) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician.
