Giulio Cesare Croce (1550–1609) was an Italian writer, actor/producer of cantastoria and enigma writer. The son of a blacksmith and a blacksmith himself, after the death of his father, his uncle continued his cultural education. He never had any particular patron but was still able to gradually leave the family business to pursue his passion: story telling. He had an enormous success and was able to travel to fairs, markets, patrician houses, and the Italian courts. His presentations were complemented by a violin. His prolific literary production was contingent upon his own transcriptions of his shows. He was married twice and had 14 children. He died in poverty. His life and choices He had little formal training or teachers and can therefore be considered one of the most successful self-taught authors in Italian literature. Due to his choices, he was never fully part of the literary groups of his time. To be a literary man in his period meant living at court, having patron ...

Onofrio de Santa Croce (died 20 October 1471) was a cardinal and bishop of Tricarico within the Kingdom of Naples. He was born at Rome, and died there. In 1467, he was sent as papal legate by Pope Paul II to mediate between the expanding Duchy of Burgundy and the Prince-Bishopric of Liège in the second Liège war over the desire of the latter for sovereignty. Onofrio had enjoyed previous successes as a diplomat, and was armed with firsthand knowledge of the situation acquired when he accompanied the legate Paul Ferri to the city of Liège in 1463. Despite "tireless efforts," Onofrio failed, and a third Liège war, in October 1468, saw Charles the Bold of Burgundy and Louis XI of France began a siege that would end in the destruction of Liège. Maria Eufrasia della Croce (1597–1676) was a Carmelite nun and artist. She was born as ''Flavia Benedetti'' in Rome; she entered Carmel in 1628 and painted many works for her Roman convent of S. Giuseppe a Capo le Case of the Discalced Carmelites. Maria entered the convent on 3 May 1627 and became a nun a year later. She may have received some artistic training as a child; her work bears some similarity to the colouring of the Bolognese group of artists and she had links with the miniaturist Anna Angelica Allegrini and the architect Plautilla Bricci. She may have helped to train Plautilla, who stayed with her for a sustained period; her brother Elpidio went on to commission Plautilla to design his villa. At some point Maria became the Prioress of the convent. She painted an altarpiec ...

Jim Croce
James Joseph Croce (; January 10, 1943 – September 20, 1973) was an American folk and rock singer-songwriter. Between 1966 and 1973, he released five studio albums and numerous singles. During this period, Croce took a series of odd jobs to pay bills while he continued to write, record, and perform concerts. After he formed a partnership with songwriter and guitarist Maury Muehleisen, his fortunes turned in the early 1970s. His breakthrough came in 1972; his third album, ''You Don't Mess Around with Jim'', produced three charting singles, including "Time in a Bottle", which reached No. 1 after his death. The follow-up album, '' Life and Times'', included the song " Bad, Bad Leroy Brown", which was the only No. 1 hit he had during his lifetime. On September 20, 1973, at the height of his popularity and the day before the lead single to his fifth album ''I Got a Name'' was released, Croce and five others died in a plane crash. His music continued to chart throughout the 1970s fol ...
