Croatian Labour Party
The Croatian Labour Party ( hr, Hrvatska radnička stranka) is a minor Croatian party without political representation. The Party has about 400 members. It was founded in 1999 in Samobor. It follows teachings of Croatian nationalist Ante Starčević. On 2007 parliamentary elections it was a part of the coalition led by Social Democratic Action of Croatia. Left-wing Populism
Left-wing populism, also called social populism, is a political ideology that combines left-wing politics with populist rhetoric and themes. Its rhetoric often consists of anti-elitism, opposition to the Establishment, and speaking for the "common people".Albertazzi and McDonnell, p. 123. 2013 European Parliament Election In Croatia
European Parliament elections were held in Croatia for the first time on 14 April 2013 to elect twelve Members of the European Parliament. The members served the remainder of the Parliament's 2009–2014 term after Croatia entered the European Union on 1 July 2013. The country formed a single constituency, with members elected by proportional representation using open lists. Despite opinion polling predicting a decisive victory of the governing centre left SDP-led coalition, the centre right HDZ-led coalition won a razor-thin plurality of the vote. The turnout of just 20.8% was the lowest turnout in a national election in modern Croatian history. 2016 Croatian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Croatia on 11 September 2016, with all 151 seats in the Croatian Parliament up for election. The elections were preceded by a successful motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković and his cabinet on 16 June 2016, with 125 MPs voting in favour of the proposal. A subsequent attempt by the Patriotic Coalition to form a new parliamentary majority, with Minister of Finance Zdravko Marić as Prime Minister, failed and the Parliament voted to dissolve itself on 20 June 2016. The dissolution took effect on 15 July 2016, which made it possible for President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović to officially call for elections on 11 September 2016.
