Croatian Olympic Committee
The Croatian Olympic Committee ( hr, Hrvatski olimpijski odbor (HOO)) is the non-profit organization representing Croatian athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The COC organizes Croatia's representatives at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. It also organizes the Croatian contingent at smaller events such as the Mediterranean Games. Members of the committee are 44 sports federations, which elect the Executive Council composed of the president and 15 members. In 2006, the COC organized the first Croatian World Games in Zadar. Nikša Dobud
Nikša Dobud (born 5 August 1985) is a Croatian water polo player. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the Croatia men's national water polo team in the men's event. He is 6'7" (200 cm) tall and weighs 276 lbs (125 kg). In 2015, Dobud received a four-year suspension for attempting to evade a FINA drug test. His suspension ended in as of April 2019. He then signed a contract to play for Italian water polo club Pro Recco. He also intended to play for Maltese club San Giljan in the summer. Water Polo At The 2013 Mediterranean Games – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament of water polo at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey, were held between June 19 and June 25. All games were held at the Mersin University, Çiftlikköy Campus Swimming Pool. Format *Seven teams are divided into two preliminary groups. One group consists three teams and the other four teams. *The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for Semifinals, other teams will qualify for the placement matches. *Winners of the Semifinals contested the gold medal game and the losers the bronze medal game. Sandro Sukno
Sandro Sukno (born 30 June 1990) is a Croatian former professional water polo player. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the Croatia national team in the men's event winning the gold medal. He also won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He last played for VK Jug. He currently works as an assistant coach of the senior men's Croatia national team. Sandro's father is Goran Sukno, water polo gold medalist for Yugoslavia at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Sandro was named Croatian water polo player of the year in 2014 and 2015, and best player in the 2014–15 Prva Liga. In December 2017, Sukno won the trophy for the best water polo player in the 2016–17 season. In 2017 he was named to the All-Star Team of the World Championships.
