Crispa 400
Crispa 400 was the name of two amateur basketball teams owned by P. Floro and Sons, Inc. that played in the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA) from 1977 to 1981 and the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) from 1989 to 1992, respectively. The name Crispa 400 refers to a line of T-shirts manufactured by the Floro company. The first team maintained Crispa's presence in amateur basketball following the transfer of the original Crispa franchise to the Philippine Basketball Association in 1975. It disbanded with the demise of the MICAA in 1982. In 1986, Crispa returned to the commercial basketball scene by joining the National Seniors tournament early that year. MICAA
The Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA) was a sports association which existed in Manila, Philippines from 1938 to 1981. Throughout its existence, it staged various sports and was participated by prominent Philippine companies. After World War II, its basketball tournament became the country's premier basketball league until 1975, when nine of its members broke away to form the very first professional basketball league in Asia, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Afterwards, it would continue as a farm league of sorts for the PBA until the league closed down before the end of 1981. Frederick "Eric" Altamirano (born August 8, 1966 in Davao City) is a former Filipino basketball player and he formerly the assistant coach of the Alaska Aces. In the present he is the commissioner of Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 He was part of the Philippine national team that played at the 1986 Asian Games. Kevin Ramas
Fermin Alberto Ramas, better known as Kevin Ramas (born October 30, 1967) is a former PBA player for more than twelve years. He has played for Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs, San Miguel Beermen, Pepsi Mega and Alaska Milkmen (now known as the Alaska Aces). Ramas played for the Mapua Cardinals in the NCAA where he was part of the senior's championship conquest in 1990. He also played for Crispa 400 in the Philippine Basketball League. In 1992, Ramas entered the PBA draft and was picked fourth overall in the first round by Purefoods, behind three members of the national team, Vergel Meneses, Stevenson Solomon and Jolly Escobar. Bong Hawkins
Rene "Bong" Hawkins Jr. (born November 6, 1967) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player of the Philippine Basketball Association. He is the son of character actor Rene Hawkins, Sr. PBA career Presto & Sta.Lucia A power forward with the good sense of timing inside the shaded area, Bong was drafted as the second overall pick in the 1991 PBA draft. Rodericko Cesar Escueta Racela, also known as Olsen Racela, (born November 1, 1970) is the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws men's basketball team. He is also currently an assistant coach of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is a retired PBA player and is considered to be one of the best point guards who ever played in the league. Johnny Abarrientos
Johnny Abarrientos (born July 17, 1970) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was also a many-time member of the Philippine National team, and was the 1996 PBA Most Valuable Player, becoming the shortest player to win the league's highest individual award. He is known by many as The Flying A when he started playing for the Alaska Milkmen in 1993. He is currently an assistant coach for the Magnolia Hotshots and the Head Coach for the FEU Tamaraws. Victor Pablo
Victor Pablo (born August 8, 1970) is a retired Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. Playing career A former king Tamaraw at Far Eastern University, Pablo was the second overall pick in the 1993 PBA draft. He was drafted by Ginebra San Miguel but failed to reach an agreement with the Gins and was subsequently traded to Pepsi in exchange for center Manny Victorino. At Pepsi, he rejoined coach Derrick Pumaren, his former coach at Triple-V Foodmasters during his PBL days. Bernie Fabiosa
Bernie Fabiosa (born July 23, 1954) is a retired Filipino professional basketball player and actor. He spent most of his playing days with the Crispa Redmanizers in the PBA. During his heyday, he is tops in career steals, earning for himself the monicker The Sultan of Swipe. Playing career Fabiosa played 17 seasons in the PBA from 1975 to 1991. In 1981, he led the league in assists, tallying 8.4 points, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals across his name. He also led the league in steals for seven seasons. Fortunato Co, Jr
Fortunato "Atoy" Gan Co Jr. (born October 15, 1951) is a Filipino former basketball player and coach who played 13 seasons in the Philippine Basketball Association, mostly with Crispa Redmanizers. Nicknamed "The Fortune Cookie" (a pun on his name and ethnicity) during his playing days, he was notable for his trademark turnaround fadeaway jump shot. He is also a former politician and actor. Padim Israel
Federico Israel, Jr. (born September 2, 1956), better known as Padim Israel, is a former Filipino basketball player. He enrolled at Ateneo de Manila University in 1973 and saw action for Ateneo's varsity five. In his third year, he was asked to try out with the Blue Eagles and coach Baby Dalupan took him in. Padim spent three years playing for the Ateneo seniors in the NCAA from 1975-1978. He was taken in by the Crispa team in the MICAA and at the same time tried out for the national team. From Crispa, he got his release to play for APCOR under coach Turo Valenzona, a new team that entered in the MICAA in 1979. After the league folded up, Padim was acquired by Crispa in the PBA, along with his three other APCOR teammates; Elpidio Villamin, Ramon Cruz and Arturo Cristobal. Leandro "Leo" Isaac (born February 2, 1961) is a Filipino former basketball player, commentator and former head coach of the Blackwater Elite in the Philippine Basketball Association. College career He played for the Mapua Cardinals in the NCAA from 1978 to 1981 and was voted MVP for the 1981 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. Jose Bernardo "Joy" Carpio (born May 7, 1958) is a retired Filipino professional basketball player who played in the Philippine Basketball Association. High School and College Career Carpio teamed up with Fritz Gaston, Steve Watson, future pro teammate Padim Israel and Chito Narvasa as a 6’4” center-forward for the Ateneo Blue Eagles from 1974 to 1977, winning back-to-back NCAA titles in 1975 and 1976.
