Crimewatch File
''Crimewatch File'' was a British television programme which reconstructed the investigation of a single case that had previously been covered by ''Crimewatch'' which viewers had previously helped to solve. History Broadcast on BBC One, it was aired on an ad hoc basis and presented by Nick Ross and Sue Cook concurrently (with Jill Dando taking over from Cook in 1996 until her death), more than thirty editions aired until April 2000, when the final edition, fronted by Ross, was broadcast. Following the show's demise, in latter years of the main ''Crimewatch'' programme, episodes would regularly feature segments and reports on solved cases previously featured on the programme in a very similar vein to ''Crimewatch File''. Nick Ross
Nicholas David Ross (born 7 August 1947) is a British radio and television presenter. During the 1980s and 1990s he was one of the most ubiquitous of British broadcasters but is best known for hosting the BBC TV programme ''Crimewatch'', which he left in 2007 after 23 years. He has subsequently filmed a series for BBC One called ''The Truth About Crime'' and has made documentaries for BBC Radio 4. He is chairman, president, trustee or patron of a number of charities. Early life He was brought up in Surrey. His German Jewish father, Hans Rosenbluth, fled Germany in 1933 soon after the Nazi Party, Nazis came to power. In 1940 Rosenbluth was interned as an 'enemy alien' and sent from England to Australia on HMT Dunera, HMT ''Dunera''. When allowed to return, Rosenbluth changed his name to John Caryl Ross and joined the British Army's Royal Pioneer Corps, Pioneer Corps; he became an officer in 1945. Paul Hickson
Paul Anthony Hickson (10 May 1947 - 27 December 2008) was a serial rapist and a British former swimming coach, originally from Leicestershire. He coached the British Olympic swimming team at two Olympics in the 1980s, but behind his sporting prowess, he had been a determined and devious serial rapist of teenage female swimmers, who had misplaced their trust in him. Early life He grew up on Norwich Road in Leicester, the son of Arthur Walter Hickson (29 August 1914 - 2000) and Iris Mary Wilby (19 October 1920 - 9 February 2009), who had married in 1940. His grandparents were John Henry (26 April 1888 - 1978) and Elizabeth Hickson (20 June 1886 - 1949). Morecambe ( ) is a seaside town and civil parish in the City of Lancaster district in Lancashire, England. It is in Morecambe Bay on the Irish Sea. Name The first use of the name was by John Whitaker in his ''History of Manchester'' (1771), when he refers to the "æstury of Moricambe". It next appears four years later in ''Antiquities of Furness'', where the bay is described as "the Bay of Morecambe". Mark Anthony Tildesley (31 August 1976 – 1 June 1984) was a seven-year-old English child who disappeared on 1 June 1984 whilst visiting a funfair in Wokingham, Berkshire. A widespread search of the Wokingham area, involving both police officers and British Army soldiers, did not locate him. Thames Valley Police initially suspected that his body was buried near Wellington Road in Wokingham, near the funfair from which he was abducted, but they now believe that he was probably buried in a shallow grave on abandoned farmland.
