Crimecall
''Crimecall'' is a television show broadcast once monthly on RTÉ. It is co-produced in Dublin, Ireland by Green Ink Ltd and 360 Production South Ltd. Since January 2018, the show is presented by Sharon Ní Bheoláin. It is a second RTÉ adaptation of German crime programme ''Aktenzeichen XY… ungelöst'', and its format matches that of its United Kingdom, British derivative ''Crimewatch'' and re-enacts unsolved crimes. The Garda Síochána, Garda Bureau of Community Engagement is responsible for ''Crimecall''. History On 28 October 1964, RTÉ began broadcasting ''Garda Patrol'', a fifteen-minute weekly television show seeking public assistance in solving crimes. Keelin Shanley
Caoilfhionn Shanley-Ferguson (24 August 1968 – 7 February 2020), also known as Keelin Shanley, was a journalist, newsreader and presenter with RTÉ, Ireland's national radio and television station, where she had presented the '' Six One News'', alongside Caitríona Perry from January 2018 until her death in February 2020. Early life The daughter of Derry Shanley and his wife Orna, Keelin Shanley grew up in Monkstown with her siblings. She studied biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin. Brenda Power
Brenda Power (born 1962) is an Irish journalist, barrister and a radio and television broadcaster on Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) and Newstalk. Career Power is a former presenter of ''Crimecall''. Prior to this, she filled in for Marian Finucane and Joe Duffy on their respective radio shows. Power worked as a presenter/reporter on '' Would You Believe'', on RTE 1 TV. She has also featured as a panelist in TV3's ''Midday'' Programme and RTE's ''Cutting Edge'' panel show. ''Aktenzeichen XY... ungelöst'' ("Case number XY... unsolved") is a German interactive television programme first broadcast on 20 October 1967 on ZDF. Created by Eduard Zimmermann, it aims to combat and solve crimes. The programme is currently presented by Rudi Cerne. It airs monthly, with 12 episodes in a year, on Wednesday at 8:15 PM. From March 1968 until December 2002, it was produced in cooperation with the Austrian public service broadcaster ORF and Schweizer Fernsehen, a division of the Swiss public broadcaster SRG SSR, who joined in January 1969 and left in December 2003. ''Crimewatch'' (formerly ''Crimewatch UK'') is a British television programme produced by the BBC, that reconstructs major unsolved crimes in order to gain information from the public which may assist in solving the case. The programme was originally broadcast once a month on BBC One, although in the final years before cancellation it was usually broadcast roughly once every two months. ''Crimewatch'' was first broadcast on 7 June 1984, and is based on the German TV show ''Aktenzeichen XY… ungelöst'' (which translates as ''File Reference XY … Unsolved''). Nick Ross and Sue Cook presented the show for the first eleven years, until Cook's departure in June 1995. Cook was replaced by Jill Dando. After Dando was murdered in April 1999, Ross hosted ''Crimewatch'' alone until January 2000, when Fiona Bruce joined the show. Gráinne Seoige
Gráinne Seoige (; born 5 November 1973) is an Irish journalist, news anchor and documentary and entertainment television presenter. A noted Irish language supporter, Seoige is the only television personality to have worked with all four Irish terrestrial television stations—TG4, TV3, RTÉ One and RTÉ2—and to have read the inaugural news bulletins on three separate channels—TG4, TV3, and Sky News Ireland. Anne Cassin (born 1969) is an Irish journalist and news presenter working for Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). Cassin began her broadcasting career working for Dublin pirate radio station Radio Nova in 1982, where she co-presented a nightly news programme, ''Dublin Today'', with Bryan Dobson, later a fellow newscaster on RTÉ. In 1993, she presented Eurofocus, a RTÉ series on studies of education in European countries. Conleth 'Con' Murphy (born 30 January 1966) is an Irish freelance radio and television presenter, working mainly on sports programming.
