Credit Union Place
The Credit Union Place is a 1,763-seat multipurpose arena located in Dauphin, Manitoba. The arena is part of the Parkland Recreation Complex, which also includes a curling rink and an aquatic centre. The arena opened in April 2006, at a cost of $8.6 million. It is home to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Dauphin Kings and was the host site for the 2010 Royal Bank Cup, 2014 Western Canada Cup, and 2015 Telus Cup regional championships. Credit Union Place has also served as the home of the Brandon Wheat Kings for the Conference Quarter Final round of the 2016-17 WHL season, 2017 and 2017-18 WHL season, 2018 Western Hockey League playoffs due to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair taking place at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba, Brandon during that time. 2016-17 WHL Season
16-17 is a band from Basel, Switzerland. Their music combines punk rock, hardcore punk, jazz and industrial music. Biography 16-17 was founded in 1983 by Alex Buess, Knut Remond and Markus Kneubühler. When the group played its first concerts in 1983 it was received with controversial reactions: there where hardly any groups that played in an approximately similar style. Only some years later around 1986 groups like Painkiller, Last Exit or The Flying Luttenbachers appeared . They played a similar mix of rough noise, heavily amplified instruments and free jazz inspired improvisation. 1983 to 1994 the group did a lot of tours and played many gigs all over Europe, Japan and USA. The Keystone Centre is a multi-purpose facility located in Brandon, Manitoba. Its main 5,102-seat arena which is known as Westoba Place is the home of the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and the annual Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. History The original structure was built in 1973 and was known as the Keystone Centre. It was a joint venture between the City of Brandon, the Government of Manitoba, and the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba, which organizes the Royal Fair each March. Royal Manitoba Winter Fair
Royal Manitoba Winter Fair (RMWF) is an annual agricultural fair near the end of March, hosted by the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba in the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. The largest event held in Brandon, and one of the largest agricultural events in Western Canada, the RMWF is traditionally held each year during Manitoba's academic spring break. In 1970, it received royal patronage from Queen Elizabeth II, and is one of only two fairs in Canada with royal patronage. Events at fair include show jumping and heavy horse competitions, livestock sales and displays, and hands-on agricultural awareness programs as well as exhibits and entertainment. Western Hockey League
The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. The WHL is one of three leagues that constitutes the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) as the highest level of junior hockey in Canada. Teams play for the Ed Chynoweth Cup, with the winner moving on to play for the Memorial Cup, Canada's national junior championship. Brandon Wheat Kings
The Brandon Wheat Kings are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Brandon, Manitoba. They are members of the Western Hockey League (WHL) since joining the league in the 1967–68 season. Previously, they played in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), with the exception of two seasons in the mid-1960s when they played in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). The team was a successor to the Brandon Wheat City senior team that participated in the 1904 Stanley Cup Challenge, losing to the Ottawa Senators. The team was known as the Brandon Elks for a short time in the late 1930s. They won eight Turnbull Cup Championships as Manitoba Junior Champions in 1939, 1947, 1949, 1950, 1960, 1962, 1963, and 1964. Dauphin () is a city in Manitoba, Canada, with a population of 8,457 as of the 2016 Canadian Census, with an additional 2,388 living in the surrounding Rural Municipality of Dauphin (RM), for a total of 10,845 in the RM and city combined.
