Creative Atlantic Communications
Creative Atlantic Communications is a Canadian Television studio, television production company based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Halifax, Nova Scotia. History Creative Atlantic was established in 1989 by Greg Jones and Janice Evans, initially creating advertising and corporate communications media. Ten years later, Creative Atlantic began to develop and produce television programming for the broadcast market, producing a range of television series' from scripted comedies to documentaries to children's programming and more. Television Studio
A television studio, also called a television production studio, is an installation room in which video productions take place, either for the production of live television and its recording onto video tape or other media such as SSDs, or for the acquisition of raw footage for post-production. The design of a studio is similar to, and derived from, movie studios, with a few amendments for the special requirements of television production. A professional television studio generally has several rooms, which are kept separate for noise and practicality reasons. Robson Arms
''Robson Arms'' is a Canadian television series that began airing on CTV on June 17, 2005 and ended on June 30, 2008. ''Robson Arms'' is a co-production between Vancouver-based Omni Film Productions Limited and Halifax's Creative Atlantic Communications. The show is a comedy-drama (dramedy) anthology organized around the Robson Arms, an apartment building in Vancouver, at the fictional address of 951 Pendrell Street. Each of the show's episodes focuses principally on a different tenant of the building, although the core cast members interact in minor roles throughout the series. In each episode, the Troubadours comment on the storyline through song. The show was created to fulfill a licensing requirement of CTV's Vancouver station, CIVT, which originally promised, as an independent station, to produce 20 episodes of an anthology series entitled ''The Storytellers''. Liocracy
''Liocracy'' was a Canadian mockumentary comedy television series, which aired on The Comedy Network in 2001 and 2002. The show, a spoof of biographical documentary series such as ''Biography'' or '' Life and Times'', starred Leslie Nielsen as host Terrence Brynne McKennie. Each episode presented a ''Biography''-type profile of a fictional person loosely based on a real-life personality. The first episode centred on Friendly Giant, a Friendly Giant–like children's television host with a penchant for sadomasochism who became a pariah after being caught having sex with his rooster sidekick Rudy. Erica Rutherford
Erica Rutherford (1 February 1923 in Edinburgh – 11 April 2008 in Charlottetown) was a British-Canadian artist, filmmaker and writer. She received the Father Adrien Arsenault Senior Arts Award (2001) and was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (1999). Early life and education Erica Rutherford was born Eric Rutherford on 1 February 1923 in Edinburgh, Scotland, to David and Isabel Rutherford. In 1928, the family moved to Portsmouth, England. Rutherford studied at St John's College, Portsmouth, St. John's College in Southsea, and entered the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth Royal Naval College in 1937, spending a year as a cadet on HMS ''Conway'' in Liverpool. The Mighty Jungle (Canadian TV Series)
''The Mighty Jungle'' is a Canadian puppet series created by Jeff Rosen and Jason Hopley. The narrative of the story is largely crafted by a group of preschoolers who appear in live-action segments interspersed between puppet-acted scenes. It is co-produced by Halifax Film and Decode Entertainment, both DHX Media Companies (now as WildBrain), and produced in association with CBC Television. The series is broadcast in Canada on CBC Television, a Canadian television network owned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the national English-language public broadcaster, in the Kids' CBC programming block, and in the United States on Sprout.
