CreatiVets
CreatiVets is a United States non-profit organization that teaches United States Armed Forces veterans to use visual arts and music as a means of addressing their unseen wounds of war. CreatiVets was co-founded by Richard Casper and Linda Tarrson in July 2013 in Chicago, Illinois, to help combat the staggering number of suicides by veterans who transition home from war. CreatiVets' mission is to empower wounded veterans to heal through the arts and music. It operates as a 501(c)(3) organization. To enhance its mission, CreatiVets has partnered with other organizations such as The Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Big Machine Label Group, Music Has Value, Amazon Music, Wounded Warrior Project, Tee It Up For The Troops, Joni & Friends, Camp Southern Ground and Operation Stand Down. National Veterans Art Museum
The National Veterans Art Museum, formerly the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum, located at 4041 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago's six corners neighborhood, is dedicated to displaying and studying art produced by veterans from the Vietnam War and other wars and conflicts. Originally a traveling exhibition, while in Chicago it was viewed by Mayor Richard M. Daley, who was so taken by the power of the art that he immediately insisted that the city provide a permanent home for it. The entrance hall had 58,226 dog tags hanging from the ceiling, representing the US soldiers who died in Vietnam. It and the other exhibits have been described as deeply moving. Scott Borchetta (born July 3, 1962) is an American record executive and founder of the Big Machine Label Group. He started the label in 2005 with 13 employees, as its president/CEO and encompasses four imprints: Big Machine Records, BMLG Records, The Valory Music Co. and Nash Icon Records. In 2015, he became an in-house mentor on ''American Idol'' in the program's 14th and 15th seasons.
