Crazy Toones
Lamar Dupré Calhoun (November 18, 1971 – January 9, 2017), better known as DJ Crazy Toones, was an American hip hop producer and deejay. He was a member of the rap group WC and the Maad Circle and was later signed to Ice Cube's Lench Mob Records. Calhoun was born in Houston, Texas but grew up in Los Angeles, CA and was the brother of WC. Calhoun died from a heart attack on January 9, 2017, at the age of 45. Damani Nkosi is an American rapper. Nkosi has worked with well-known artists including Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Snoop Dogg, Pusha T and Malice of Clipse. Early life Nkosi was brought up in Inglewood, California. His father chose an African name for him. "Damani" means "be famous" and "Nkosi" means "Chief, ruler or king". He became part of Los Angeles' hip-hop underground. Career Nkosi recorded his first track in 1999. In 2001, Nkosi was featured on Kurupt's album ''Space Boogie: Smoke Odyssey''. He released "Move", a track featuring Pusha T and Malice in 2002. The song was featured on hip-hop radio mixshows in Los Angeles including 92.3 FM, The Beat. WC and the Maad Circle was an American hip hop group from Los Angeles, California that consisted of WC, Big Gee, Coolio and DJ Crazy Toones. History MAAD stands for ''Minority Alliance of Anti-Discrimination''. Following the dissolution of Low Profile, the rapper WC formed the group and released the albums ''Ain't a Damn Thang Changed'' in 1991 and ''Curb Servin''' in 1995. The albums spawned some popular singles, notably "Dress Code", "West Up!" and "The One". WC would later leave the group and form the gangsta rap supergroup Westside Connection with Ice Cube and Mack 10. WC and Crazy Toones continued working together at Ice Cube's Lench Mob Records.
