Crashlytics
Crashlytics was a Boston, Massachusetts-based software company founded in May 2011 by entrepreneurs Wayne Chang and Jeff Seibert. Crashlytics helps collecting, analyzing and organizing app crash reports. Its main product is a software development kit for crash reporting, application logging, online review and statistical analysis of application logs. It supports iOS, Android and Unity. In January 2013, Twitter acquired Crashlytics for over $100 million. Most of the package was in stock vesting over four years with an upfront payment of $38.2 million in common Twitter stock. In January 2017, Google announced that it signed an agreement to acquire Crashlytics and its offspring creations including Fabric and Answers. The acquisition would bolster its existing efforts in mobile by becoming part of the Firebase platform and known as Firebase Crashlytics. Wayne Chang
Wayne Chang (born August 3, 1983) is an American entrepreneur, angel investor, film producer, and philanthropist. He is best known for founding Crashlytics, a startup acquired by Twitter in 2013, creating a filesharing network called i2hub, making various seed investments, and his lawsuit against the Winklevoss brothers. Early life Chang was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and grew up extremely poor on a farm in rural Taiwan. At age 6, he immigrated to the United States. However, in the states, things weren't that much better. He didn't have his own bed until he was 16. Despite that, Chang displayed a natural talent for technology. Jeff Seibert
Jeff Seibert (born July 27, 1985) is an American entrepreneur and angel investor. He is best known for co-founding Crashlytics, which in a little over a year was acquired by Twitter for over $100 million in 2013 (later valued at $259.5 million at Twitter's IPO), and co-founding Increo, which was acquired by Box in 2009. In 2020, Seibert starred in the American docudrama film The Social Dilemma. Early life Seibert grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He discovered technology at a young age. He taught himself C in 6th grade and went on to write a range of Macintosh shareware applications. At the age of 13, Jeff released his first application, Histogram, a specialized graphing program for Mac OS. Firebase is a set of hosting services for any type of application (Android, iOS, Javascript, Node.js, Java, Unity, PHP, C++ ...). It offers NoSQL and real-time hosting of databases, content, social authentication (Google, Facebook, Twitter and Github), and notifications, or services, such as a real-time communication server. History Firebase evolved from Envolve, a prior startup founded by James Tamplin and Andrew Lee in 2011. UDID
UDID is an acronym for Unique Device Identifier. The UDID is a feature of Apple's devices running iOS, tvOS, watchOS, and macOS. It is a unique identifier that is calculated from different hardware values, such as the ECID. It is sent to Apple servers when a user tries to activate the device during Setup. This ID is also used to detect the phone or to communicate with it while restoring the IPSW firmware. Formats This unique ID has been formatted in two ways: for devices introduced between 2007 and 2018 it was represented as a 40-digit lowercase hex code, and for device models introduced after 2018, as a 25-digit uppercase hex code. It is not written on the device cover as the IMEI is, but it can be retrieved by iTunes in normal mode.
