"Crank It Up" is the fifth single from English grime band Hadouken!'s first album ''Music for an Accelerated Culture''. It was released on 7 July 2008 following the recent releases of their singles Get Smashed Gate Crash and Declaration of War from the same album. It also bears a large resemblance to MC Lars' ''Download This Song''. Hadouken! (band)
Hadouken! are a British band formed in London in 2006 by singer, writer and producer James Smith and synth player Alice Spooner along with guitarist Daniel "Pilau" Rice, bassist Christopher Purcell and drummer Nick Rice. The band name is taken from the special attack of the same name from the ''Street Fighter'' video game series. It was in Leeds that Hadouken! began their own record label, Surface Noise Records. History Early years After forming the label, Smith began writing and demoing the first Hadouken! tracks. In February 2007, Hadouken! self-released a two-song limited edition vinyl, a double-a side of "That Boy That Girl" and "Tuning In". "Download This Song" is the second single from MC Lars' first studio album, ''The Graduate'', and features Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup. The song uses sampling from Iggy Pop's " The Passenger". In early 2006, this song was featured on the pop culture CBC Radio show ''Definitely Not the Opera'' during an exposé on geeks. It charted at number 29 on the Australia ARIA charts. Fight versus RIAA MC Lars, and the Nettwerk Music Group, became involved in a lawsuit that the RIAA filed against David Greubel, a man from Texas, United States, who allegedly had committed copyright infringement through peer-to-peer filesharing over 600 music files, including "Sk8r Boi" by Avril Lavigne, another Nettwerk client. Noisia (stylised as NOISIΛ; "VISION" turned upside down) was a Dutch electronic music trio consisting of members Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger from Groningen, Netherlands.
