Craig Walton
Craig Walton (born 10 October 1975 in Ulverstone, Tasmania) is an Australian triathlete. Walton competed in the triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He took twenty-seventh place with a total time of 1:50:57.66. Walton was a powerful swimmer and strong cyclist. He typically established a large lead coming into the run leg but was frequently caught by faster runners before the finish. He enjoyed significantly more success in non-drafting events such as Noosa triathlon, which he won 7 times and for which he holds the course record. ITU Triathlon World Championships
The World Triathlon Championship Series is World Triathlon's annual series of triathlon events used to crown an annual world champion since 2008. There are multiple rounds of competitions culminating in a Grand Final race. Athletes compete head-to-head for points in these races that will determine the overall World Triathlon champion. The elite championship races are held, with one exception, over two distances, the standard or 'Olympic' distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run) and the sprint distance (750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run). The ITU (the former name of World Triathlon) world champion between 1989 and 2008 had been decided in a single annual championship race. Emma Snowsill
Emma Laura Snowsill OAM (born 15 June 1981) is an Australian professional triathlete and multiple gold medalist in the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games. She won the gold medal in triathlon at the 2008 Olympics. Snowsill is married to the 2008 Olympic champion in men's triathlon, Jan Frodeno. Professional career Snowsill won the 2000 International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championship in the 16–20 years age category plus the gold medal at the 2001 Sydney Youth Olympic Festival Triathlon at age 19. She was awarded a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and was voted 16–19 years female Triathlete of the Year 2000. Emma Moffatt (born 7 September 1984) is a retired Australian professional triathlete. She won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and won the gold at the ITU Triathlon World Championships in 2009 and in 2010. She was born in Moree, New South Wales, and was raised in the northern New South Wales town of Woolgoolga. From a young age, she participated in such sports as cross country, athletics, and surf lifesaving. In her early teens, Emma began successfully participating in triathlon. Each of her three siblings and parents also competed in triathlon, while her elder sister Nicole was a champion Ironwoman in surf lifesaving.
