Craig Stanley (cricketer)
Craig Stanley (born 17 December 1971) is a former English cricketer. Stanley was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born in North Shields, Northumberland. Stanley made his debut for Northumberland in the 1991 Minor Counties Championship against Bedfordshire. He played Minor counties cricket for Northumberland from 1991 to 2000, which included 50 Minor Counties Championship matches and 10 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut against Nottinghamshire in the 1994 NatWest Trophy. He made 2 further List A matches for the county, against the Northamptonshire Cricket Board and Bedfordshire, both in the 2000 NatWest Trophy. In his 3 List A matches, he took 3 wickets at a bowling average of 45.00, with best figures of 2/66. He also played Second XI cricket for the Essex, Durham and Somerset Second XIs. North Shields
North Shields () is a town in the Borough of North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, England. It is north-east of Newcastle upon Tyne and borders nearby Wallsend and Tynemouth. Since 1974, it has been in the North Tyneside borough of Tyne and Wear: it's historic administration was as part of the Castle ward in county of Northumberland. It was part of the Tynemouth County Borough, when abolished in 1974 the borough became an unparished area. It is on the northern bank of the River Tyne, opposite to South Shields on the other bank. 2000 NatWest Trophy
The 2000 NatWest Trophy was the 20th and last NatWest Trophy before being renamed as the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy for the 2001 season. It was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 2 May and 26 August 2000. The tournament was won by Gloucestershire who defeated Warwickshire by 22 runs in the final at Lord's. Format The 18 first-class counties, were joined by all twenty Minor Counties, plus Huntingdonshire. They were also joined by the cricket boards of Derbyshire, Durham, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Middlesex, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Somerset, Surrey, Sussex, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Yorkshire. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps.
